Three of the last four fighters, Josh Grispi, Mark Hominick, and Manny Gamburyan have a combined UFC record of 2-10.

If he wants a short camp he should have that right especially considering both what he's been through and what he brings to the table.
Let Pettis fight Thompson or Melendez on Ufc 164, if he wins, then you can set-up a title fight in Dec or on the 20th anniversary card in Vegas with GSP....

Either way I can't wait to see TJ elbow the F*** out of Pettis at some point in the near future

Melendez is fighting Sanchez, Thomson would be a great fight. The only issue with giving Pettis some huge fight is that whomever takes that fight could feel like they are in a loser situation. The 164 main card is somewhat stacked (Henderson/Grant, Mir/Barnett, Mendes/Guida, Koch/Poirer, Rothwell/Vera) with four big top ten fights and the vaya con dios fight with Vera/Rothwell. For all we know the only opening is on FX, now I don't think it will be an issue for Pettis, he's begging to get on this card. But I doubt any of the top 155lbers would be willing to fight on the prelims against a guy that they'll likely lose to and lose badly to.

Now if you put him up against some scrub you can just save the spot because you have to assume one of the six fighters in the two weight classes Pettis fights in are going to get injured and pull out.

That's a damn shame. Melendez goes from beating Bendo to not even getting a top 10 LW. What a crap fight.

Sanchez misses weight. Hasn't even been at LW. Should have lost to an old washed up Gomi. And he gets the guy who just lost a split dec for the championship. Makes tons of sense.

Forgot about Melendez vs Sanchez due to no fixed date,

Mendes/Guida will stay on the PPV regardless because of the need to hype Mendes as a potential PPV main event with Aldo, Koch and Poirer or the Vera fight could headline FX, clearing the way for Pettis vs Thomson, although I now recall Cerrone asking for Thomson

What are you talking about Sanchez is 3-1 at LW having fought for the LW title. He missed weight but I blame the UFC forcing a fighter like Deigo to make a drastic cut half-way across the world. If you are going to force a guy to fight at a lower weight class you should at the very least make it somewhat easy for him.

Sanchez/Melendez might be a main event or a co-main event.

Sanchez is far from the top ten at LW. Blaming the UFC for that is asinine, they didn't force him to do anything. He signed the contract to take the fight in Japan at 155 pounds, no one else. PS, he lost to Gomi. The only thing that was really arguable about that contest was weather Sanchez even won a round or not.

Melendez booked against Sanchez was very disappointing.

Oh listen to you, you Sanchez dick rider. Sanchez hasn't been a LW since 2009. Yet you want to act like he deserves a top 3 LW now? In 2013? Get real.

Most people had him losing to Gomi. Who is 5-6 in his last 11 fights.

Sanchez sucks and doesn't deserve a top 10 LW let alone a guy that arguably just beat the champion. And at least is a top 3 LW.

And blaming the UFC for making it "hard" on him to make weight is the dumbest thing I have heard all day on here. Yea, they should make sure anyone who is moving down in weight gets the easiest cut possible. Yea, good one.

Gomi clearly won the fight with Sanchez, and has improved since his downfall in his career.

Nino is going to eat Sanchez for breakfast.

As for Pettis, you're exciting but you're the one who gave up the LW title shot, shut up and get back in line.

12 of 12 media outlets scored the bout in favor of Gomi.

I think only a few Sanchez fans scored it for Sanchez. The guy does not deserve to fight Sam Tout let alone Nino
