Here sweetheart, let me help you out a bit -
JDS has a punchers chance in their third fight. But it is the only way he wins.
o I classify this sentence as “opinion” (mine) and is not intended to be sarcastic at all… apologies for the confusion
Absent a knockout by JDS, he loses the tiebreak in much the same way he lost their second fight – by being outworked by a more rounded and capable fighter.
o Again, I classify this sentence as “opinion” (mine, although I’m sure someone out there shares it) and is not intended to be sarcastic at all… again, my apologies for the confusion (who would have thought this would be so tough)
o OK that last sentence (in parenthesis (brackets if you’re from the UK)) might be slightly sarcastic… perhaps we can get a second opinion from an expert??
It is a pity that the so-called "genuine" fighters can get away with spouting such nonsense without causing an uproar; but if Jon Jones sneezes and doesn't use a handkerchief he’s labeled a hypocrite and a fraud and half the internet are baying for his head.
o I would classify this as a “lament” – based almost exclusively on my dislike for the way the JBJ gets criticized whenever he expresses an opinion (see below)
Time to finally realize that UFC fighters are athletes that are paid to fight and hurt each other; and I am fine with that.
o Statement of fact
I don’t care if they boil baby bunnies in their spare time as long as they perform in the cage.
o My opinion
But if JDS really thinks that Cain hits like a girl why the hell did JDS get the crap beat
out of him?
o Genuine (if rhetorical) question
Can you imagine what a heavyweight that can actually punch would do to JDS? (For those of you don’t recognize it when you read it, that last sentence is an example of sarcasm).
o I previously identified this sentence for what it is (and was always intended to be)
Let me know if you need/want additional clarification and I’ll do my best to help you out
o Yeah, that last bit might have been sarcasm… WOW this is harder than it looks!
p.s. The only time I've ever been in the same room (that I know of) with Jon Jones was at the United Center in January (Johnson vs. Dodson). I had a great seat in row one just where the fighters come out. High fives from most of the fighters heading into the ring, and even Dana White... but in between fights a certain LHW champion walked up the entranceway and started flirting with a couple of girls not 15 feet away from me on the other side of the walkout. Keen to get a picture of probably my favorite fighter I tried everything to get Jones to look around so I could ask him for a picture... and that bugger was having none of it, when he finally walked off it was if he deliberately ensured that his face never came in range of my phone camera... So do I like Jon Jones as a person? who the hell cares! I like him and I buy his fights purely because of what he does in the cage - period.
