Glover Texeira vs Rashad Evans (Hypothetical)

Speed and wrestling probably go to rashad but power, stand up, and jui jitsu go to glover. i see glover finsihing rashad in the second with either strikes or a submission.

I don't think Rashad is as explosive as he once was. His wrestling doesn't seem as up to par these days.

Without elite TDs I don't think he can beat Tex. Tex may have good enough wrestling and strength to stuff them anyway.

Tex is just better at this point in my opinion. Rashad could try to do just enough and be goofy from the outside and take a dodgy dec. But my money would be on Tex.

Glover should win this one with his superior striking, but it would be an interesting fight if it happens. Rashad could have been still a big threat in the division, but somehow he has lost his ability to pull the trigger and I don't see Glover stopping now with his great momentum. I think Rashad can control the distance and the pace of the fight, but in the end Golver will catch him with a hook or something in the exchanges. Glover is very nasty on the ground and I don't think that Rashad will be able to turn this fight into a wrestling clinic. Teixeira can wrestle good as well, which will allow him to prevent Suga from taking him down at will and ground and pound him. Evans's only chance is to land that big shot, which he does defensively from time to time and take Glover's head off, because of Teixeira's lack of footwork, but I doubt that would happen. I don't think Evans can knock anybody out from the top 10 in 205 right now.

I predict Glover winning this one and fighting Jones, if he gets through Gustafsson.

I was going to add my thoughts on this but jonnyg4508 said it all.

Glover wins this!

1. BJ "The Prodigy" Penn
2. Dan "Hollywood" Henderson
3. George "Rush" St Pierre

Rashad would be in trouble if he could use his wrestling to take Glover down. If Rashad used his wrestling to keep the fight standing, though, well... he would be in trouble anyway.

I think Rashad with a smart gameplan gets the win.

This fight isn't happening. Glover would smack Rashad, and he will smack Bader.

Given how badly Rashad's wrestling seems to have gone downhill in his last 2 fights, I don't see it ending well for him. Something around a 10-20% takedown success rate against Rogerio Nogueira and Hendo is pretty darn sad and it's not going to cut it against Texeira. Glover should have no problems keeping it standing and putting Rashad out cold with his far superior striking, or he might just go for some takedowns himself and win the fight that way.
