Teixeira vs Bader and Okami vs Souza kick off FS1-3 (Sept 4 Brazil)

As expected Teixeira draws the assignment he was suppose to have at Ufc 160 and the match-up fans asked for immediately after Fx 8 in Souza vs Okami,

Likely the Main and Co-main for the third installment of FS1 cards, great start!

I got Teixeira and Okami

Light Heavyweight bout: Glover Teixeira vs Ryan Bader
Middleweight bout: Jacare Souza vs Yushin Okami
Flyweight bout: Joseph Benavidez vs Jussier Formiga

"The UFC's third event on FOX Sports 1 will reportedly take place in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and a pair of high-profile contests are apparently targeted for the evening's main card.

The UFC on FOX Sports 1 3 main event will reportedly see light heavyweights Glover Teixeira (21-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Ryan Bader (15-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) face off, while middleweight action sees Yushin Okami (29-7 MMA) face Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza (18-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC).

The targeted location and bookings were first reported by Brazilian outlet Portal do Vale Tudo. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has since confirmed the likely plans with multiple sources close to the event, though UFC officials have yet to make any formal announcements.

Teixeira and Bader were actually expected to fight this past May at UFC 160. However, Bader suffered an injury in training and was replaced by James Te Huna, who was submitted by Teixeira in the first round of the contest.

Teixeira now boasts an incredible 19-fight win streak and a perfect 4-0 mark in the UFC. Meanwhile, Bader looks to build on the strength of a January win over Vladimir Matyushenko. The much-needed result for Bader helped reduce the sting of a devastating knockout loss to Lyoto Machida this past August.

Okami returns to Brazil to fight for the first time since a failed August 2011 bud to unseat middleweight champ Anderson Silva. Okami actually lost his next fight, as well, in a disappointing result against Tim Boetsch but has since bounced back with victories over Hector Lombard, Alan Belcher and Buddy Roberts.

Meanwhile, former Strikeforce champ Souza returns to action after a successful UFC debut at May's UFC on FX 8 event. It was the submission specialist's fourth straight victory, and he's now 8-1 in his past nine overall fights. Following that win, UFC President Dana White revealed he was already working on a Souza-Okami matchup.

The UFC first visited Belo Horizonte, the sixth-most populous city in Brazil in June 2012 for "UFC 147: Silva vs. Franklin II."

Bader needs to go in there with the same gameplan he fought Rampage with.

Souza/Okami is pretty interesting.

You could make an argument for it.

Who is Ryan Bader's best win?

Now ask yourself, who is Glover's best win?

The answer is the same, Rampage, albeit a faded past his prime Rampage. I was hoping for Glover vs. Shad but Bader is a top ten guy in my eyes and will be Glover's toughest test yet in the UFC. One I expect him to pass with flying colors as he's absolutely violent and I love it.

As for Okami/Jacare, Jacare's a beast but I gotta go with my dude Okami, this will probably come down to the stand up and Okami will derail another hype train and touch Jacare with the jab. Jacare is still a top ten guy and a tough out regardless though, Okami just seems like a bad matchup for him.

I got Tex and Jacare here. Tex will pound on Badar and sub him late. Jacare takes Okami the distance.

Jon Jones | Anderson Silva | Urijah Faber | Benson Henderson | Rampage Jackson | Roy Nelson | Shinya Aoki

I think Bader and Okami.

For me this will be the hype moment for Tex, he either beats Bader and proves the hype, or he loses and proves he still needs more work. I will state up front though, there is really nothing Tex could do to prove that he would even be a challenge for JBJ. For context sake, I view pretty much everyone at LHW that way.

Okami vs Jacare, I just tip my hat towards Okami. He tends to win most decisions, and he has a way of just grinding people in both the stand up, on the ground, but most importantly in the transitions between both. The guys who have proven most successful against him (other than AS) are the guys who deny him the transition part. Okami can make a takedown/grappling portion last minutes and just sap your strength. It is a massive advantage he carries against most MW's.

Bader has little chance.

Bader beat a fat/hurt Rampage who was more concerned with Japanese poosay.

Tex beat a 204lb in shape, fighting for a next contract Page....in every aspect of the game.

And that doesn't even really mean much in my opinion. Tex is just a bad, bad matchup for Bader.

Tex should win. I don't get this "hype" thing about him. He is a good fighter in an ascending momentum.
Okami will use his wrestling to keep standing, IMO. He has no business with Jacare in the grappling department. I see a repetition of Davis vs Vinny...zzzzzz. Hope I'm wrong.

Five rounds hurts Tex then again Bader's chin really isn't that solid so I would give that one to Tex.

Jacare vs Okami is such a strange fight, both Lombard and Roberts almost beat him. For Jacare it's a huge step up in competition, but he's also shown improvement with his striking. This really should be the main event as neither of these guys could gas and both could finish in the 4th or 5th rounds.

I'm going double Brazlian

Tough fight for Bader but he definitely has a chance. Glover got tagged A LOT by Maldonado. He is nowhere near as good defensively as machida and if he let's Bader hit him he may well get finished.
