Class act. He say's how he feels, millions still believe he'd win. All cool.

Thatīs pretty cool. I still think he would beat JBJ. HE has the tools and the matrix skills to defeat him.

Actually you make a good point. I respect for Anderson Silva straight up coming out and saying he thinks Jon Jones will beat him. Jones has a size and strength advantage... and has age on his side. And as Silva said... the only real advantage he has over Jones is experience. If Anderson Silva was to win the fight... he'd probably find some small hole created by a mistake Jones made and finish it. Otherwise Jones probably would win with his size and strength advantage.

I would gain a lot of respect for GSP... even if he didn't accept the "super fight" if he just came out and said he thinks Silva would beat him and that's why he's not looking forward to the fight.

I'd respect GSP a lot more as well if he just came out and said it rather than stringing people along and making excuses.

I like Silva's honesty here as it's simple - he's bigger, younger, has all the tools to beat him and as shown he can utilize those tools excellently against AAA fighters. Instead of stringing people along he's just like "look, he'd probably beat me and that's not something I'm interested in". At the very least we know he's wanting GSP more than Jones and he's honest about why that is.

It's very refreshing to hear.

Yep. Im totally with you here brother. If GSP would only admit the same ( even though to any intelligent person who is reasonably skilled at reading between the lines, GSP has already pretty much said he doesnt believe he can beat Silva ) then we can put these two dumb fights to bed and concentrate on proper matchups for our champions, not freakshows designed to fill the space because the UFC doesn't have enough viable challengers for them.

Not just experience, he does have some skills over Jones, but yea, Jones would probably win.

Here's an in-depth analysis.

I bet when silva watches tape he sees holes and openings that he can exploit in the fight. He probably doesn't see them much when watching jones which is why he stated jones is a smart fighter.

Which is actually not true. He's quite understating his own abilities. Silva has better striking technique, higher precision, better timing and one punch KO (or at least knock down) power. (Jones might have still the better chances with his wrestling and overall higher power)

I'm actually not quite sure whether he's not interested in it. On the other hand I sometimes have the feeling that he really is pretty fond of Jones and wouldn't want him to lose.

Jones is 2 levels below Silva in striking. BUT, Sonnen took Silva down many times and Jones took and held Sonnen down. This means Silva will be on his butt for most of this fight.

At 205 pounds Jones wins because Silva will be too weak in the clinch at that weight.

At catch weight I still think Jones wins because he will still have a big advantage. Jones is also a bad matchup for Silva since Jones have tremendous ground and pound (=bloody elbows).

At 185 Silva wins. Even if Jones will make that weight it will be a level playing field and Silva is simply so much better standing up that he will find a way.

I don't like the fact that he said it, unless he's trolling. If they end up fighting I want both fighters going in thinking they will win.
