Anderson has Jones all figured out already. That's what he does. People forget he was an WW fighter at adult age, then moved up to dominate the MW division and challenged himself at 205 three times so far, beating soundly two very big LHWs, one pissing extra hot.
Rogêrio Camões stated he can transform Anderson in a HW, If he want to. He likes challenges and big fights.

This fight against Jones is far from buried. Only GSP fight was on table waaay earlier. Ppl calling GSP vs Anderson an absurd are likely to be newbie fans.

And yet he continues to duck Jones even though he fights in the LHW division, and instead insists that a WW move up and fight him. I don't see any other champions in the UFC doing this. Silva could fight Jones tomorrow if he gave Dana the word, so talk is cheap. Hate to say it, but Chael had him pegged.

Yes. "He probably beats me." doesn't contradict with "I'd fight him."

GSP on fighting against Anderson Silva in 2008

“I’ve been thinking about it. It’s going to depend on the scenario. I have a lot of training partners at 185 and my weight class is 170. I would never get into the way of one of my training partners,” he stated. “I would never fight somebody I train with. But if one day, I have the opportunity, the way is clear, and I did everything I had to do in my division, of course I will (fight Silva).”

Hum, we heard that before right? Better saying, later, from Anderson when asked about challenging Jones at 205.

Check also some of these articles from 2009 to educate yourself about the fact the GSP vs Anderson superfight is so talked about before Jones became Jones

http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2009/11/1...talking-moving

http://www.mmaconvert.com/2009/04/20...re-in-toronto/

Then you check from GSP himself his opinion on moving up to MW to challenge Anderson Silva in this also 2009 interview (very nice interview BTW, as GSP is one of the most intelligent and knowledgeabe fighters in the business). Do yourself a favor and jump straight to the 05:55 mark to get to the point, so you won't get confused with names GSP will speak about, like Rickson or Royce Gracie.

And please, since you coud not even address any of the cold facts back there, just stop embarrassing yourself. Anderson is not known for ducking. Jones is. Period.

By the way, I support GSP not going up to fight Anderson. I support the fact he changed his mind and that does not make him a coward in my eyes.

I think Silva made these comments thinking of Weidman. He is playing mind games and rightfully so because he is the champ. He is playing himself down to Weidman and perhaps boosting Weidmans psyche of looking past him as the young new contender. He is lulling him into a false sense of security, especially the way Weidman stands setting up a takedown.
Very far fetched but that is what came to my mind.

Yeah I doubt that.

Anderson probably realises that he can't stop Jones from taking him down and anyone underneath him for any amount of time is gonna get ****ed up. Anderson does a good job protecting himself off his back but no one can survive Jones' ground and pound.
