GSP in terms of longevity (long running champion), but Bones in terms of brutality and overall potential/skill. Bones is more impressive overall.

From a longevity standpoint, jones' current UFC win streak is 9 to GSPs 11 though, and the dominance in those 9 has been greater. It's actually 13 and longer than GSPs current UFC streak if you count the Hamill "loss" as the win it really was in spirit, whereas GSPs latest loss was actually a loss.

One can make the argument that GSP has been the champion far longer, one can make the argument that Jones has defeated his opponents in much more brutal and convincing fashion, there's a lot of factors to take in so I don't really like making such lists.

Silva certainly isn't #1 anymore, though, you can't lose and still keep your #1 spot, especially when there are two guys who are literally right on your tail to take the spot.

oh sorry you forgot this

Let him actually get a real belt first maybe. You know actually defend it and stuff. And not be in a year old div of nobodies and dropdowns, that'd be nice too.

Well, how is he not?

Do you know the meaning behind the pound for pound term?
We're not talking about a catchweight fight here.

Take away Jon Jones massive size advantage, shrink him down to a Welterweight the same size as GSP, or you take GSP and enlarge him into a 205 JBJ sized beast.
Who would win?

I would say GSP would win 9 outta 10 times just for being the strategist that he is. That and he's more experienced. More knowledge overall. Both are freakish athletes.

GSP has lost and been battered in his last fight. Silva just got the crap beat out of him. Again. It's not the first time it happened. Jones has barely been scratched.

Cue "oh but jones needs to fight SSSHWs and trucks and tanks, you know, cos, long arms. Him fighting legally in a division where he makes weight is unfair, all the other champs never cut a single pound... they drink up on cream soda before every fight to make weight".

And this is coming from a bigger fan of GSP than Jones.

Silva just got the crap beat out of him? Lol what were you watching?

He got hit with 1 punch because he was messing around.

Also, before the loss, who exactly hurt Silva more then Condit hurt GSP? Oh right no one even came close.

Nobody stays p4p one off a defeat, my vote goes for Jones... i feel he passed GSP while GSP was injured.
