Machida should drop down to Middleweight 185 IMO

Silva says he will no longer fight for the belts. Silva might be able to fight super fights at catch weights. IMO this is also very fair to Machida. He has been in the light heavyweigh division for his career since Silva is his friend.

Machida does not look very ripped at weigh ins and is only 6 foot 1". He is ideal for the middleweight!

I say: He should drop down to middleweight and challenge Weidman. I think he has a chance of beating him and becoming the middleweight champion!

He'll never hold the belt at LHW again so its a good move for him. A lot of winnable fights

Agreed, him or Vitor have Weidman's #. Weidman will be a one time champion only, trust me on this one.

I dont agree with the second part. That was his 10th fight ever. Hes got a long way to go in his career. I see him getting beaten in his first defense, however thats not to say down the line he won't be successful enough again to win the title back, hes got the right skillset, just green...gold for now

Machida can beat Weidman but Vitor will be outwrestled. If Machida does not drop down to 185 I see Weidman holding the title for years, he is that good...!

Machida recently has started to cut very small weight, it still makes him one the lightest guys in LHW. I still remember him coming in at 198lbs against David Heath (the guy Babalu ruined).

It would be very interesting to see Machida drop to MW and finally see him cut weight like majority of fighters do. He is still one of the best fighters in MMA.

Absolutely couldn't agree more. Anderson doesn't want belts. Machida has a MUUUUCH better chance of beating Weidman than Jones IMO. I also think he'll still be fast/strong at MW, and I think he gas the power to do some damage at MW. If I'm Machida, there is no reason NOT to drop to middleweight at this point.
