Actually there's a strategy behind the chest strikes. It's a bigger target.
The chest is stationary while the head moves...therefore I believe it wasn't so much about stifling Anderson's cardio. It was meant to hit em where his head would be next so that's where the combination comes into. My instructor showed me the angles of various shots. It was the rights, backhand that forced Anderson into slipping left. As you can see Anderson was ducking/weaving/slipping. So where he was ducking is where his chest would have been.
I would like to hear some input from our fellow mma fighters; Kin, Kney, Gland, Kamikaze, or LifeB, to hear their thoughts.
They need to do an interview on Ray + Danaher + Serra to hear his breakdown on the fight and strategy.
