"Punch a "fu**ing hole in his chest!"

What a line. I have a feeling we'll be hearing that line in the Chris Weidman TV movie special "How I beat Anderson Silva"

I don't care what anyone says but there isn't a better trainer and cornerman than longo, he hasn't had the luxury of having a big camp with lots of stars that help eachother like jacksons or blackhouse. Coached serra and weidman to wins over 2 of the greatest mma fighters and I loved that quote he had as well. Phillipou is a damn fool for leaving longo and serra he will see that come next fight.

Longo and Danaher was one heck of a corner Weidman had. Quite possibly the best corner in MMA, just a shame Matt Serra wasn't there! He really does have some fantastic coaches. Longo's a fantastic MMA coach, and mixing in John Danaher in there, it's no surprise Weidman is as good as he is, especially his Jiu Jitsu. There is no better Jiu Jitsu coach in the world than John Danaher.

It's too bad Weidman didn't actually listen to the advice, though. All he did was continue to throw shots to the head.

Good thing those head shots paid off then.

But yeah Longo is an amazing cornerman. I was hoping Serra would have been in his corner

Actually there's a strategy behind the chest strikes. It's a bigger target.

The chest is stationary while the head moves...therefore I believe it wasn't so much about stifling Anderson's cardio. It was meant to hit em where his head would be next so that's where the combination comes into. My instructor showed me the angles of various shots. It was the rights, backhand that forced Anderson into slipping left. As you can see Anderson was ducking/weaving/slipping. So where he was ducking is where his chest would have been.

I would like to hear some input from our fellow mma fighters; Kin, Kney, Gland, Kamikaze, or LifeB, to hear their thoughts.

They need to do an interview on Ray + Danaher + Serra to hear his breakdown on the fight and strategy.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Or maybe Weidman did exactly what Longo said. Punch his chest, thats where his head often is with his bobbing and weaving. If you aim for his head you will miss.

I dunno, Im just a simple keyboard warrior but think about it?
