Weidman punched silva in the face and his head bounced off the canvas, so it was better than what Chael accomplished.

When he originally took him down? I remember him landing a couple decent shots, but nothing amazing. Chael controlled Silva for more than 4 rounds and got a TD each time in that first fight. Weidman was 1 for 2 with TDs I think and didn't control Silva for that long when he did get that TD.

Not saying he couldn't potentially do it. But to me, Silva passed the test of Weidman's TDs and grappling. I think he would be quite happy with how he defending in those situations.

GSP was not a dominant champion at the time and Serra was not ready to fight right away, circumstances are different here.

Agree the situations are nothing alike. Plus Weidman said he would give him a rematch BEFORE the fight. And said he wants that fight again next after he won.

Why should Vitor get a shot when his super powers are only allowed in Brazil?

Watch it again, he jumps over Silva's legs and punches him hard enough to make his head bounce off the canvas.

Matt Hughes had to fight again before he rematched GSP. Rich Franklin had to fight twice before rematching Silva.

He was actually tagging Silva pretty good on the ground before going for that silly heel hook.

I don't think it was silly, he almost had it. Heel hook unlike a choke is nearly impossible to resist once it's in, you can't tough your way out of it.

I'll take your word for it but seems like guys that try that always seem to lose top position.
