Another question. Does this thread really need to hear your whining?
You realise anyone (and everyone) fits under the giant umbrella that is anything (and everything), right?

Your thread title is ridiculous, it acts as if what you are saying is fact, and then you open with this:

Can't say for sure
Orly????? next time you should say "I think Roy Jones would destroy Anderson", cos that's all you're really saying, and while you're at it you should just make it a post with a headline in an already existing thread.

Also, if getting KOed by an average striker like Weidman didn't embarass him, then how the hell is he going to get embarassed by losing to another legend in RJJ?

[sarcasm]
OP uses logic very well[/sarcasm]

This thread should be in general discussion or even boxing. MMA Smacktalk could be fitting too.

The front page of the UFC section is like 85% Anderson and Weidman... it's a little ridiculous.
It's about a UFC fighter so it belongs in the UFC section. There have been dozens of Anderson RJJ threads in the section before every time anderson gave an interview anout it, and no one complianed then.

Of course the front page is full of Anderson Weidman, the longest reigning champ in UFC history just got knocked out. You expect people to just stop talking about it within a few days because it is not your preferred outcome? If you don't wanna read about it just avoid the forum for a few weeks and let it settle. Or don't read such threads. It's a safe bet that after the next event the threads will switch to the more recent fights.

I agree that the thread title is a bit inflammatory but such thread titles get posted in this section all the time. I can't even recall the number of "Anderson will embaress so-and-so fighter" threads I've read on here and no one complained.

You do make some good points, but I can't agree that those two should take up all the space on the front page just because the fight is so recent and the result was huge.

We really only need like 4-5 threads on these guys maximum but instead people are going crazy with thread creation and all other news gets pushed back and many people never get an opportunity to read it.

If this were a fight announcement or something I would have a different tune.

I suppose there could be some thread merging handy, but the mods have already on top that as far as I can see.

why is this even a discussion to say an MMA fighter would get smoked by a top boxer in a boxing match is like saying a boxer would get smoke in mma match.

read an online artical about silva called killing the king. Strikeing in mma is very basic consisting of left right left right combos and basic jabs. Punches never seem to be doubled up in MMA. and that is one reason silva is able to doge so easily.

In most if not all his fight when he is doing the bobbing and weaving it looks impressive but the punches are almost always predictable left-right-left

if you watch the last combo in the fight you will see a right backfist by chris and this was the most important punch in the combo. after chris threw a right silva was expecting a left and the way he swayed if weidman had thrown a left it would have missed silva would have tkoed an off balance weidman and we would be talking about how great he is. However weidman hit him with a right back hand and caught silva by surprise throwing him off his game silva didnt know where to sway and he got caught with ko punch.

A Boxer even low level boxer would know this and double up his punches. people dont think about it but there is a tremendous amount of technique and theory that go into these boxing combos. RJJ would dismantle silva in a boxing match.

Yes. People tend to forget that Jones isn't in his mid-twenties anymore.
