Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Pat Healy set for UFC 165 in Toronto

Two powerful grapplers will meet in an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contest at UFC 165, as today (July 21, 2013) it was reported by that Khabib Nurmagomedov will meet Pat Healy at the Sept. 21, 2013 event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. UFC officials have yet to confirm the match up.

Both fighters are looking to make their way up the rankings, and the winner will move one step close to a 155-pound title shot.

Nurmagomedov (20-0), currently unbeaten in his professional career, is a highly talented grappler with a gritty approach to fighting. He's used his in-your-face style to defeat all of the twenty opponents that have been put in front of him thus far in his career, including the likes of Gleison Tibau and Thiago Tavares.

"The Eagle" is coming off a three round drubbing of Abel Trujillo at UFC 160, which saw him complete takedown after takedown en route to a unanimous decision victory.

Healy (29-16, 1 NC), a standout fighter from the now-defunct Strikeforce organization, has made a name for himself in mixed martial arts (MMA) as a relentless grinder. His raw power and grappling prowess have been huge tools in his 29 career wins, in which he has earned 15 submission and six (technical) knockout victories .

"Bam Bam" last fought at UFC 159, where he took on lightweight contender Jim Miller in a battle that initially saw him take home a submission victory, which was later overturned when Healy failed his post-fight drug test.

UFC 165 is headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson. The card will also feature Renan Barao putting his interim bantamweight title on the line against Eddie Wineland.
Rootin' for Khabib but should be a great fight.

Solid fight. Khabib probably wins, but Healy got my respect in the Jim Miller fight. Could go either way.

Great fight from the UFC matchmakers.
I am really looking forward to the fight trying to guage the level of grappling by both guys.

If Khabib wins then the fight will truly be scored from dominant postion.

Healy has good striking for a dominatly one dimensional grappler. I expect Khabib to walk through the Healy strikes and land his set combination or takedown.

Khabib's just gonna keep wrecking his way to the top of the division.. no worries there.

When it happens we can all look back at my posts from when Khabib first came to the UFC and rejoice!
