Biogenesis Drug Scandal Could Include MMA; UFC President Dana White Weighs In (Video)

Quote:
There has been a major scandal brewing in the world of sports, once again centering on illegal performance enhancing drugs and treatments.

There are claims that Biogenesis and its founder, Tony Bosch, have been providing PEDs to numerous athletes in the professional sports world. Thus far, the spotlight and accusations have focused primarily on Major League Baseball stars like Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun.

The man who blew the whistle on Biogenesis, Porter Fischer, recently indicated that there are athletes from numerous other sports involved as well, specifically mentioning the NBA and mixed martial arts.

There was no indication who the mixed martial artists involved were, but as with anything MMA, UFC president Dana White, at his UFC on Fox 8 post-fight scrum with reporters, was grilled about the Biogenesis scandal and the questions about what if a UFC fighter was involved.

Man this can be a disaster if some of the bigger names in the UFC are mentioned.

Who do you guys suspect?

1. BJ "The Prodigy" Penn
2. Dan "Hollywood" Henderson
3. George "Rush" St Pierre

Abuse of drugs is prevalent across the board in pro sports. The failure rate in the UFC alone is probably pretty high as it is in comparison to other pro sports where testing is common, but I think the usage is more similar then the failed results suggest. For a case like this, Carwin was already involved in the same type of naming. He was alone and most people chose to overlook it. Something like this with a large client list being exposed was bound to unfortunately happen sooner or later.

I like MMA less because of this forum

Jeez journo's are getting shitty these days. That interview was a farce. Dudes asking him about a topic they don;t know anything about themselves.

But anyway I like the sound of biogenesis, sounds like something I could use on some weed plants to make them 20 feet tall

I'd agree with that as well. Bj would be thrilled if it was GSP .

Even as a GSP fan, he was the first fighter that sprung to mind.

I gotta be honest, whenever I see something like this I think they are fishing for it. They want someone to screw up and admit to it, and then come to find out the names are going to be guys who had like 2 fights in the UFC, lost, and aren't even employed anymore.

When they start naming names, then I'll care.

Also when I first read this article the other day my first reaction was "Well we all already know Overeem popped. If they say his name I'll roll my eyes so hard I'll have to see a doc to get them looking forward again."

If there is an MMA fighter involved it's a high level UFC fighter, Biogenesis ain't cheap.

My guess is GSP or Rashad, Overeem, or Vitor. The clinic is based in Florida so its not that farfetched.

I'd bet on one of the guys LL mentioned (not GSP though, I firmly believe he's clean); or Thiago Silva
