That is terrible pay for an established UFC champ.

Just goes to show the draw of flyweighs when it comes to PPV buys.

DJ should be on more IMO, I know he doesn't have that many fights but he's Champ, the face of his division, has been at the top end of his division for a while now and is quite simply, a sublime fighter to watch.

He also has the pressure of advertising the smaller fighters, Dana still needs to push these lower weights in popularity, it's still a working progress for the average fan... DJ is doing more than his fair share. And Dana loves the lower weights!

DJ is something very special and important as it is not to spoil him, it's important to treat him. Keep it sweet, so to speak. Regardless, he should have been top paid on this card. I imagine the kid gets a lot of secret bonuses, don't trust these pay reports really.

Exactly, that could be either surprisingly small or surprisingly big, and he's been sponsored by them for a while. Still, his basic pay(+ winning) should have topped this card.

He won't be on the cover of the next UFC Xbox game, but he's the only Champ repping them...

This is what I think. I think the higher calibur fighter that dont have a large payout for fights have higher incentives. Those, like Robbie, that have really high payouts dont get those incentives. I think that with the incentives it ends up being more than those that may not opt for incentives.

By incentives I mean the extras that fighters get paid behind the scens or maybe a cut of the gate or PPV.

and his images reflect in mine the same time

I would guess the Masvidal had a pretty decent Strikeforce contract and it carried over to the UFC. He is the kind of established vet that Strikeforce was ok with spending some money on.

All the Strikeforce guys are on ludicrous contracts. That's why Lawler is on $156,000, and Masvidal on so much. Also, don't let these numbers fool you, DJ is getting paid by the UFC, and getting paid a lot more than these numbers suggest.
