I've come to realize you see things in a slightly different light. True statement though.

OP is right to an extent, but maybe he doesn't really need to evolve at this point. There's a plateau eventually. The clinch guillotine or takedown, elbow smash will always be his bread and butter. Reminded of Tito when he was able to throw his weight around. I'd like to see him win by a standing KO though.

He really dominated SB, who is the only person JBJ has fought without at least a 5in reach advantage.

Thats how evolution works. You evolve up to the point where you are better at everything then everything else. Then you stop evolving. eg. Sharks. Wasps. Crocodiles. Jon Jones.

Jones range lets him execute unorthodox strikes and partly because his opponents defend too much and are cautious of his takedowns. He has amazing standup because of his range.
Pettis is a world class striker but he doesnt have the range of Jones yet he is dominant in striking.

I think top strikers in MMA cannot be classed the same because every standout striker have personal physical attributes they evolved to be a level ahead of the normal calibre.
I fully expect Jones to get better then his level through learning better footwork, combinations, body memory and striking IQ. All MMA fighters are still evolving in all disciplines.

I personally think Mousasi is a guy who is very evolved in striking and could beat Jones standing.

Franklin,Gouveia,Maia,Kharitonov,Hunt,Liddell,Pari syan,Hardy,Shlemenko,Machida,Gomi,Bustamante,Evans ,Edgar,Hathaway,Bonnar,Murray,S.Carter,Ludwig,Pett is,K.Gill,Sobral,Mousasi,D.Cruz,Arona,Nogueiras,Co te,Ole Laursen,Kawajiri,Sakuraba & K1 Lebanner!

If Jon Jones is evolving in any area, its one we usually can't see and is his biggest weakness; his BJJ.

I'm pretty sure almost getting submitted by Vitor made him afraid to ever be in that position again.

He will keep getting better but it will be less noticeable to most people as it generally won't be flashy techniques but small improvements in how he does things.

You're right, he's not evolving...or at least hasn't shown signs of it. Ever wonder why? Because literally no one has forced him to do anything more than plan A.
