Hendricks: I don’t want to take GSP down… I want to break jaws

Quote:
“I don’t want to take ‘GSP’ down. I want to lay him out. That’s all I want to do. That’s what the fans want to see, and I know I have the power in both hands to do it… I will bite on my mouthpiece and eat a jab to land a right or a left hand on his jaw line. That’s the difference. Punch me in the face, I’ll punch you twice as hard. When I’m in there, my goal is to break someone’s jaw. Let them forget who they are that night. Let them wake up the next morning and go, ‘What the hell happened?’ That’s my goal every fight… If he’s going to sit there and do that jab, watch. I’ll bite on the mouthpiece. I’ll eat one to throw my left or right hand all day long.”
During the UFC’s World Tour, Johny Hendricks got a chance to discuss how he plans on approaching his UFC title fight against GSP.

Ya know, Hendricks last 6 fights have been a checkboard of KO's and decisions. Everytime he gets a KO, he gets a decision the next fight. Everytime he gets a decision, he wins by KO the next fight. And for those who don't know, Hendricks last fight went to a decision...

Jus sayin...

Hendricks might land that big punch but mostly likely he is going to get outwrestled and outstruck all night long. We've seen GSP deal with better strikers. We've seen GSP outwrestle wrestlers who are just as good. And Hendricks' cardio and heart are questionable. His cardio has faded in several fights (Kos, Condit) and he was wilting fast in round three against Condit once Condit started picking up momentum. He didn't seem to know what to do once his opponent was winning for any length of time.

This is how I see this fight playing out. He eats a stiff jab when he tries to come in to throw bombs. When he tries to bullrush he'll get taken down and if he manages to get GSP down GSP will just bounce right back to his feet as Hendricks has not shown great ground control. Everybody he has taken down has gotten right back up.

That is not dead which can eternal lie and withs strange aeons even death may die.

doesn't work that way.

Jardine went a long time w-l-w-l-w before he lost a shitload of fights in a row.
