This is legitimately the worst year in the history of the UFC.

I can't think of a more pathetic display of matchmaking, horrible performances from top level fighters, horrible fights at top level, and garbage tier cards from top to bottom as we have in 2013.

2012 was known as the year of injuries, but at least we got good entertaining fights, 2013 has been atrocious despite injuries being much less significant and common.

The only good fights the entire year at world level were basically JDS vs Hunt and Hendricks vs Condit...both co-mains...

Hendricks v Condit, which literally might go down as FOTY at this point, was followed by another rather hum drum, uncompetitive decision win by GSP...but it wasn't a terrible fight, and that's probably the card of the year(pathetic by any other year's standards.

JDS vs Hunt was followed by an uncalled for squash match that ended in 1 round and no one gave a ****.

Let's face it, Johnson vs Moraga was on broadcast TV and did pathetic numbers....literally TNA tier numbers. PPV buys are down, and this forum right now is an absolute ghost town on a Saturday night of a pay per view with a world title on the line....and they should be..the undercard was pitiful and the co-main and main were both indecisive events that sent the crowd mild.

I hate to say it, but my enthusiasm for this shit is dwindling by the event, and if the UFC, Joe Silva, Sean Shelby and the fighters don't get their ******* acts together....the sport as a whole is not only going to cease growth, it's going to hit a MAJOR regression.

**** fighter pay, how about you start putting on some events worth staying home for then we'll talk about making everyone multi-millionaires.

Honestly if GSP-Hendricks doesn't deliver, this is going to be a year that's regarded as one of the turning points for the momentum of the UFC and MMA in general.

Agree and have been saying it for weeks. Matchmaking is terrible these days.

Matchmaking is probably the biggest problem right now, but the fighters mucking it up with negative bullshit it just as bad....the pitiful thing is this year we haven't even gotten many fights we were supposed to trick ourselves into thinking would be good...instead getting bullshit like Cain-Bigfoot II and Jones-Sonnen, but when we do get one of those fights, it's shit.

Rory-Ellenberger

Rashad-Henderson

Henderson-Machida

Silva getting ktfo doing some stupid shit.

Aldo-Edgar

...

am I missing anything? I think I've covered every relevant fight actually this year on PPV or FOX.

and then you have GSP-Diaz which was fairly average....and Melendez-Henderson.

Yup. The match ups announced this week show nothing is going to change either. Shields vs Maia? Carmont vs Phillipou? What is this shit? I'm pretty sure Joe Silva is in charge of all this so I'll put all the blame on him.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

I think you need to get out some and watch fights. The bars that show the fighta near me are packed as in can't get a seat after nine packed.

9? Fights start at 7 here. You can't even get in the door if you aren't there before 5.

I disagree with Rofl as usual. I think he's being the typical whiny poster he's always been. His favorite fighters haven't looked all that thrilling lately and he is having trouble swallowing it... So it's the match makers fault.

RIP Jordan Corder. Watch over me from above brother.

What does that have to do with anything?

The bars in your little section of the world are packed full of casual fans for UFC events? What the hell does that have to do with anything?

Took the words out of my mouth.

Johnson-Moraga does a 0.7 on network tv but all is well if people go to bars on a Saturday night.

Being drunk might help me get over how terrible the events have been all year though.

My favorite fighters aren't particularly obvious, considering I don't talk about them all the time. The only one people could guess is the guy in my sig.

But even if this was the case, since I could count the numbers who have actually looked good at a high level on one hand this year, it wouldn't be too hard.

Come on now. He has a point. Just look at the main events of the PPVs we've had so far. They're either uninteresting or the challengers are undeserving, and that's just on paper. The fights themselves have all stunk aside from Weidman/Silva. The PPV numbers show just how bad the MEs have been.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.
