Main, Im totally on the Cain train, but this idea that he rolls over Bones is kinda silly.

Its all very well highlighting all of Cains strong points, but lets not forget Bones has a few of those as well. I think it'll be a good fight. No way either of these two crushes the other.

As dominant as Jones has been in the LHW division, this should make for an excellent fight.

I think it has a lot more to do with Cain not really big on show boating, especially with someone he isn't getting ready to fight. Obviously Jones thought it was a pretty silly occasion for a stare down also.

Cain has a monster chin/heart but also is the most proficient in utilizing his cardio to push a pace no other HW can handle. Cain can get inside and break anybody. If they fought, We would see JBJ spend his scariest moments on his back or eat some true legkicks from a HW. Cain would certainly have a huge speed advantage as well. No way Jon could hang with Cain in deep water. Cain wouldn't give Jon a second to set anything up. CV would gas Bones badly by rd.3 if it went that far. Velasquez would constantly change levels and just dominate Jones taking the fight to him every second until he breaks and Cain finishes...
This is hilarious. Jones is the more proven fighter. He's fought the better competition and has crushed them all.

You know what fight actually sounds interesting that i've never seen anyone mention? Cain vs machida

LOLWUT

How do any of the guys that Bones' fought compare to JDS? His only loss is to the champion and he has torn through contender after contender his whole UFC career. Bones has fought a bunch of has beens, he's about to fight Gus who was already submitted by Phil Davis in the UFC.

if you forget about how they made their names and look specifically at the fights surrounding their title shots, Bones' defenses aren't as impressive as they initially seem.

The only guy that he's faced who was really in his prime was Bader (and Bader sucks) unless you want to count the MW Vitor (who's in a second prime due to TRT and GOD)

Cain V Machida would be just sad to watch. I don't like Lyoto but I don't want to see him on the verge of death either.

We're talking about a 235lb guy that throws around 280lb NCAA champs here, Bones has only ever faced opponents smaller than him. Cain has wrestled and fought with bigger men his whole life.

I'd buy Bones vs Cain.... I'm wondering how Jones is going to get up to HW though.... He might have to take a few "tune up" fights with lower competition as he's adding weight.

To fight at LHW and then 4 months later jump into the cage with a guy like Cain would not be wise IMO.... that or he needs to give Overeem a call to see if he can get some of that horse meat imported.

Why are people saying that Jones needs to bulk up. Jones does not need to bulk up, He surely can come in around 240lbs naturally which would match Cain. Jones cant give up any speed or mobility fighting Cain.

Because the HW division is an unproven division. Cain's biggest wins in his career are jds and lesnar. Jones has beat rashad, rampage, lyoto, vitor, chael, bader, and shogun. Literally everyone that he could possibly beat he did. And to each their own also. When rashad became champ people thought he was just too good. Then machida beat him and people thought he was just too good. Then shogun beat machida and everyone thought he was just too good (bar the knee injury). What im saying is the people jones has beat were all looked at by many people as someone that was going to reign to division for a long time. And not only did he beat them, he completely dominated them.

Not taking anything away from cain, only stating that it is not even debatable who has faced the harder competition. Not to mention cain does have a recent loss under his record, avenged or not.

you guys are talking like either guy is being fed cans but they aren't. Both are world class fighters, it would undoubtedly be a good fight, unlikely that either guy would get steamrolled because they match up so closely in size and pedigree.

Cain has lost once and Jones lost once, one more devastating than the other but it's not like either guy is anything to scoff at, a closely contested fight indeed. Cain dominating JDS and Jones ragdolling Machida against the cage are both impressive.
