Actually enjoyed this fight. It was somewhat tactical, I mean if you got a mountain coming at you absorbing 100% of your POWER SHOTS flush on the chin and gut. WTF are you going to do. Think that broke Vera mentally. That was a nice leg kick to the liver and flush left cross/overhand right in Rothwell's chin.

As predicted Vera starts off winning then goes downhill. As Rothwell gets tagged he gets pissed off and goes Silver back gorilla style on em...hahahahahahhaha!

Well this should be the end of the road in the UFC for Vera. Not sure what happened, but after that contract dispute with the UFC he has never been the same.

I was thinking about this. My feelings are that Vera believed in the UFC marketing machine and thus his own hype. He's under performed when it counted. When he attacks he lands some vicious combos w/ kicks. He always freezes up, gets stuck in the cage and curls up. Sign of a lack of mental toughness. Easier said than done I suppose. Then you look at Ryan Couture who just grits down and keeps going or heck even Travis Brown recently. Can't teach toughness.

I will tell you what happened - Reality happened. Why the UFC wanted to promote a lanky physically frail fighter with little athletic ability and strength at HW AND LHW is beyond me. Ben Rothwell should hopefully be the nail in the coffin for this idiotic waste of man.

I didn't expect Vera to win after he came in above 240 pounds. He was a guy that used his speed at heavyweight. Against Mir, he came in at 230, and against Assuerio Silva, he came in at 226. Maybe he didn't care about weight because he didn't want Rothwell to have too much of a size advantage, but Vera would have been at a disadvantage there either way, no matter how much he weighed. He more likely just didn't care about his weight and just came in for a pay check.

Nice barrage by Rothwell. I wish more guys would do that in the later rounds to avoid decisions. We've all learned that even if you are up on the score cards in many peoples minds, that doesn't automatically guarantee a decision win. I'd want to try and avoid decisions as much as possible in relatively close fights.

Vera has had a hard time pulling the trigger for a while now. He seems to be skilled, but he just continues to just sit and wait for god knows what to happen.

I imagine this will result in Vera getting cut.
Just a shame because he obviously has the skill but absolutely no mental game. Not sure why he was sitting back there waiting like that. What was he doing?

Vera has suffered some humiliating defeats. First Thiago "Lars Ulrich" Silva happened, then Rothwell goes all Miley Cyrus before trashing him.
