^^

I think his judge of distance is even worse, he is just never able to throw from the right distance back when he was a warrior he would smother is work up close and now he fights like an idiot his punches are always falling short.

The movement is embarrassing and nearly totally pointless, it in now way aids his offense because he always just runs forward with straights and on when ever someone throughs punches at him he stops moving his head anyway.

I've never seen a fighter who's moved at such a frenetic pace, burning energy without doing anything. It often goes against him because he runs right into a punch or kick...haha.

Regardless he can still say he got a "W" running out the clock against the champ.

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

Of all Guida's UFC fights (I've seen every one), I think he has a total of one quality punch landed, the one that broke the jaw of dos Anjos. Even Freddie roach would have a hard time training Clay some solid boxing techniques. I think he just lacks that kind of coordination or something.

What's crazy is that Guida actually has a halfway decent résumé.

Pettis
Thomson
Diaz
Gomi
dos Anjos
Hioki

For a guy who appears to have almost zero talent, that's a pretty decent list of fighters that he's beaten.

One thing I don't like about Greg Jackson is that sometimes I feel like he tries to work around a fighters lack of talent by simply building a gameplan. Why not try and improve a fighters actual skillset? I completely understand the point of strategy and I'm all for point fighting but it isn't a good idea to bank on strategy and game planning as opposed to improving someone's skill. Guida looked like he had F level striking. His wrestling is hardly good enough to keep guys with mediocre takedown defense down.

It just amazes me how a guy who is so bad can actually compete at the top level.

If he didn't jump around like a retard and actually came forward and did some damage he would be a lot better, that and actually doing something when it goes to the ground.

It is a shame really, as he probably has the best cardio in the UFC. Imagine Aldo or BJ with Clay Guida cardio?

I think he cracked Roger Huerta once or twice in their fight! But yeah.. you're definitely right about his technique.

Yep. Im tired of watching Guida bounce around on the tips of his toes, throwing with zero power and missing 9 out of 10 times.

Its guys like Guida that give the Boxing community shit to laugh at.
