BOSTON — Chael Sonnen talks about his UFC Fight Night 26 bout against Shogun Rua, switching camps before the fight, juggling being an analyst and a fighter, why he’s moving down to middleweight after this fight, and why he’s applying to ref Weidman vs. Silva 2.

I would feel very uneasy about Chael reffing that fight.

Would you be uneasy about Chael stopping the fight too soon, or letting Weidman beat Silva into the mat for too long?

That would be hilarious, but to be fair with as much effort as Sonnen puts into all of his other jobs I think he would probably be an excellent Ref or Judge of MMA. When he is in character he is hard to take serious, but when he is out of it he appears to be a guy who tries hard at everything he does.

Yes, even at money laundering where he was about as successful as against Silva or Jones.

Yeah, have a rival who was trash talking Silva for 2 whole years, ref his title fight again the single person he ever lost to in the UFC.

Great idea...
