GSP training with the legendary JWP!!

http://www.kickboxermag.com.au/news/...-for-gsp-.html

apparently john wayne has been hanging out and training with gsp quite abit lately, he also helped him prepare for diaz

apart from being one of the best ever muay thai fighters of all time he is also a wicked dude, and now holds events in a cage with muay thai rules but mma gloves

I friggen love it, here is a link to one of his fights in this event, its just the last couple of mins of a 5 round fight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cayBUvv4WIM

for a great watch there is 2 really good documantaries on john wayne, I think one is called 'blessed with venom'

anyway just thought id share this, he has had a nuts story and like a lot of other fighters e.g. mark hunt - has never had the recognition he deserves in his own country

Favourite Fighters
Anderson Silva
Mark Hunt
Bisping
Fedor
Machida
Pettis
Aldo
McGregor
'John' Wayne Parr
Nathan 'Carnage' Corbett
Bruce Lee

And not a difference in GSP's striking game will be made. GSP brings in people to simply learn new stuff but not actually incorporate it.

This is what I'm thinking as well, but there could be a small chance. He still won't knock anyone out though.

...Nice move by GSP. He really has no choice but to focus on his stand-up. Hendrix by far will be GSP's ultimate test of his career and the most dangerous fight ever. The mere fact that Johny's wrestling can rival GSP's and with his serious one punch KO power, we could certainly see another epic changing of the guard in 2013. For the first time, I don't see GSP getting multiple TD's on Hendrix like he has all the others. I believe Hendrix can stuff and perhaps put St. Pierre on his back. Nobody has been able to stop GSP's TD's. I believe Johny can and will. This is so exciting to see GSP being forced to stand because of another sick wrestler with brutal finishing power. GSP has a lot more stand-up tools but he had better watch his kicks. No high or spinning kicks...Johny will take em' down. Landing hard legkicks early on Hendrix is key to slowing down that incoming left missle. GSP needs to stay on the balls of his feet, pick his shots-keeping Hendrix at a distance and constantly change levels mixing it up. One slip up and GSP will be waking up with a flashlight in his eyes...

...True and with the added brilliance of striking coach Mike Wink and Greg having an ace gameplan, This will certainly bring out the best in GSP. Hendrix & GSP will be an incredible fight...

Yes, I believe that John Wayne Parr may be the best Muay Thai fighter in the world though I still can't even believe he lost those fights to Yodensklai...maybe because Yodensklai is left handed?

I think it shows how intelligent and superior a fighter GSP is in bringing together an amazing Thai boxer in Parr, I cannot wait for him to beat up Hendricks with those skills.

A lot of the traditionally trained muay thai fighters are southpaw, even if they are right handed. Yod is just better than Parr.
