Anyone who thinks Tarec isn't a step up in competition for Matt is out of their mind.

Good fight I think Tarec has lost a lot I his momentum with the inactivity. Brown may swarm him and win but Tarec could out strike him.

Probably be on the FOX card since Matt Brown is Mr. FOX according to Dana.

Brown should be fighting a more well known and higher ranked opponent imo. He's just treading water by taking this fight no matter how well he does.

Condit, Diaz, or Kampmann in that order would be my choice.

I predict Brown gets caught for using steroids after this fight. He's either completely changed his nutrition or received some form of chemical help, he seems entirely different this year than he has for several years before and he's the perfect candidate for it, it's usually the non ripped not physically perfect kind of guys that use it. (IMO, please don't fly off the handle if you disagree, basing my opinion on previous trends, e.g. Barnett, Leben etc.)

I don't think he will get caught for roids. But interesting theory.

I thin Tarec is a step up, but at this point Tarec is not a huge step up. Tarec imo, and i'm sure a lot of others, has something to prove still.

I can see your point, but I don't think that is it at all. Matt Brown was on a skid and the possibility to be cut existed. Matt Brown looks around the UFC and he actually sees guys with a worse skid than his and they are still around, what do they all have in common? They get referred to as "Warriors" guys who come out and lay it all on the line. Guys who never play it safe.

My theory, and it is one I have even read a couple articles saying the same thing, is that Matt Brown realized that when he fights safe he loses. His style isn't meant for point fighting, his style is meant to put heads through the cage. And even if he loses, if he goes out in a blaze of glory maybe the UFC will want to keep him around. Guess what? It worked for him, and if it ain't broke, well you know the rest.

I would be more concerned about roids/PED's if he had some major injury/surgery and recovered in 1/2 the time.

As for this fight, Saff could surprise me, but I expect him to get smoked within the first round. I think he will last longer than Pyle though.

Tarec is a tough guy but hes really overrated I believe. Brown is a bit overrated but hes so dangerous because of his style

I love how some guys like Matt Brown and Barnett "haven't fought anyone".

But randomly, guys like Saff just get a pass as if they fight all the top guys? "Saff is a step up!". Saff has beat 1 decent fighter (Marquardt) and that decent fighter is 3-4 in his last 7 fights.

It is odd how people decipher who has fought legit guys or not. A guy like Barnett is wrote off by many here because "he has 1 good win in 7 years". But Saff has one good win in his whole career. Yet that is NEVER said about him.

It is really odd. People make no sense what so ever when talking about this stuff. People fall so in love with rankings or what Zuffa tells them. Yet none of it makes any sense.

It's because he is fighting people that stylistically match up well with him as well as improvement, he's shown some decent skill in the past but just couldn't put it all together.

I agree with your post here. I personally don't think that Tarec deserves to be ranked in the top 10, hes a skilled guy but he has beat Nate, Bowling who are both decent, but he lost to Woodley. Brown has honest fought equally if not tougher fighters. Tarec is a step up in the sense that he's a 'ranked' guy
