I predict Brown gets caught for using steroids after this fight. He's either completely changed his nutrition or received some form of chemical help, he seems entirely different this year than he has for several years before and he's the perfect candidate for it, it's usually the non ripped not physically perfect kind of guys that use it. (IMO, please don't fly off the handle if you disagree, basing my opinion on previous trends, e.g. Barnett, Leben etc.)
I can see your point, but I don't think that is it at all. Matt Brown was on a skid and the possibility to be cut existed. Matt Brown looks around the UFC and he actually sees guys with a worse skid than his and they are still around, what do they all have in common? They get referred to as "Warriors" guys who come out and lay it all on the line. Guys who never play it safe.
My theory, and it is one I have even read a couple articles saying the same thing, is that Matt Brown realized that when he fights safe he loses. His style isn't meant for point fighting, his style is meant to put heads through the cage. And even if he loses, if he goes out in a blaze of glory maybe the UFC will want to keep him around. Guess what? It worked for him, and if it ain't broke, well you know the rest.
I would be more concerned about roids/PED's if he had some major injury/surgery and recovered in 1/2 the time.
As for this fight, Saff could surprise me, but I expect him to get smoked within the first round. I think he will last longer than Pyle though.
