Yes, Sonnen ONLY calls out ageing big names OR payday championship fights that he doesn't deserve.

What he doesn't take are tough contender fights. You know like THE REST OF THE ROSTER HAS TO, in order to get championship or headliner fights. Fights like Davis, or Belfort, both of whom have called him out publicly or been offered to him.

It's not a tough concept.
Are you out of your mind, rashad beat davis and is a much better fighter and harder fight for chael. And who the hell would want the fight with davis as there top billing for choosing a fight for chael to be in, what do you really wanna see davis vs sonnen? that would be the easier fight and more boring one if anything.

Regarding belfort no comment is needed for the man who calls out chael everytime he already has a fight or is just done fighting, chael has accepted everytime btw. There isn't one fighter he has refused to fight and you have zero proof that he has refused anyone, and if you start bringing up conspiracy theories the conversation can stop right here.

As Osmium said, that was pre-Jones Davis ... an elite guy riding a long win streak.

Not this emotional wreck in the worst camp in the history of MMA with quite possibly the worst win ratio and strategy in the UFC, divorced and left his family to move out with a bunch of strangers, and whose only win since was a near miss over a slow 43 year old.

Pre-Jones Rashad beat a greener Davis of 1.5 years ago. That pre-jones Rashad would wreck Sonnen badly.

Heck, even with all that said, even now, I still say Rashad beats Sonnen if the fight happens at 167. What's gonna be the excuse if / when that happens? Will you guys admit Sonnen is overrated or still try to brush it off? For my part if Sonnen beats Rashad I'll come back to this very thread to give him credit.

At this point though Davis was the tougher fight. And please, Dana himself said that he was talking to Chael about the Davis fight as the replacement and Davis has been openly gunning for Sonnen ever since the Shogun win, so obviously the only person turning it down could be Chael. So don't give me that crap that Sonnen never turns down fights because obviously he just did.

I don't think davis has improved one bit since the rashad fight in fact I think that fight made him worse. Actually it was chael who said that he wouldn't mind fighting davis, yesterdays post fight media scrum with dana someone brought this up to dana who said oh hmm thats interesting i dont know the fight could happen.

He didn't sound too keen, so again there is no proof he turned down anything. And if sonnen loses why would he admit he is overrated? he's a 185er and I never said he was top 5 at lhw so there is nothing to overrate if he loses anyways.

If he had lost to shogun I would have said I overestimated chael though, but alas that was too easy a fight to pick and I couldn't believe people actually picked shogun only for them to not give chael credit or anything when the result was official. I'm the last person to not admit he was wrong about something I don't care if i'm wrong i'm wrong.

I picked the easy win for Chael over Shogun as well so there must be others you're implying changed their tune after the win.

Davis has improved his striking and defense a bit, it was evident against Magalhaes, though Magalhaes is certainly no judging stick. He also didn't panic after getting hit by Machida, that aspect was much better than his fight with Rogerio. He kept his guard up, moved logically instead of blind panic, dodged and countered occasionally.

It would be his striking that would come into play against Sonnen. Sonnen and Davis' wrestling would essentially cancel each other out ... not only is Davis an equally accomplished wrestler he is also far bigger and is built like a greek statue.

Believe it or not, I'd give Davis the edge in the striking. Chael has shown absolutely nothing on the feet in his entire career except for his one crowning glory punch that caused Anderson to lose balance. Davis could probably outpoint him with some ugly striking and maybe a couple of takedowns.

lol yes, let's add pre-geriatric Chuck, pre-depression overweight Filho and pre-death Tanner to that list as well. People and their excuses I tell ya.

Everyone knows fighters don't change based on .. oh ... life. As long as the name on the sher-dawg win column is the same, it's the same thing duh.

As usual you don't have a ****ing clue of what your talking about. your just puking out anything you think might look bad for the great one.
Dana never discussed Davis with chael. He never heard of Davis and chael.

Reporter: what did you and Chael talk about?
Dana: Things.
different reporter: Chael called out Phil Davis.
Dana: huh??
reporter: we heard that chael is calling out Phil Davis
Dana: Chael is calling out Phil Davis??...huh??... really??...interesting......that fight could happen..

Skip to 27:00 or so and get yourself a clue my hateful friend. ..or Chaeter as I like to think of you and your ilk

Well you know I know mmamath and all but davis had all the time int he world with a gassed vinny and didnt come close to finishing him, perosh next fight over finishes him in 14 flat. Also i'm not confident machida landed on davis much cleanly, those flurrys were all blocked when I saw it. And no I wasn't referring to you about changing the tune on shogun but I know there were defiantly some who did.

Also this isn't me overrating Sonnen's striking as it is me trashing Davis'striking, he may be the most greatly sculpted fighter with the least amount of chance of KOing or hurting someone standing. He has a few ok kicks, he reminds me of jake shields who has one ok kick but literally nothing else, except phil has reach too.

I think Chael would take down phil the same way rashad did to be honest, I don't think it would be hard, i'm pretty confident rashad is a way harder challege, not even jones could properly take down rashad for more than a split second.

It's not a tough concept.

If Sonnen actually took up a top 3 contender fight like that AND won, he'd have my respect. Or actually win a belt, even with TRT. Neither of which he has actually managed to do before his fans are already started talking about his HOF slot.

Sonnen and Dana are ducking Wand.
