An observation on UFC #164 & four questions
Although it looked like Big Ben Rothwell all of a sudden opened the proverbial can of whoop a_s on Ryan Bader in the 3rd round & pounded him into submission....
I would think that most folks know that this guy will never get close to the UFC heavyweight title because although he has power, he is just way too slow....I think he would have trouble catching up to a 3 - toed sloth in the octogon.
(1) It's about time to ask this question again even though I know who the large majority will pick (I think I've asked it around once a year for the past few years). Who is going to lose first...Jose Aldo or Jon Jones & why?
(2) Which female UFC fighter would you choose to fight & beat Rhonda Rousey if you had to bet your farm (all assets) on the fight?
(3) And on the same track - if u were setting the odds on Rouseys next fight with Miesha Tate....what would you make the odds of Rousey winning by arm bar in the first round?
(4 )Might as well stay on the same topic for the last question. Taking into account the total package of Rhonda Rousey & Meisha Tate. Which one do you like the best?
Obviously Dana White changed his mind on having female MMA fighters. I'm sure the females are now bringing in a tidy penny to the UFC coffers. And the UFC hype machine keeps running like a well oiled machine.
By total package I'm saying looks, personality (although I think this is hard to judge for someone who follows this sport, although isn't even close to being a fanatic about it), bodies (they have obviously figured....the less clothing on them in a photo shoot...the better), & intelligence.
And whatever else you want to add to the mix. Make a choice & explain why if u feel like it.
OK - THIS POST IS ALREADY PRETTY LONG....SO I WOULD SUGGEST THAT FOLKS WHO LIKE SHORT POSTS MOVE ON.
I would guess that the fact that Rousey is undefeated & has won by arm bar in the 1st round of all 7 of her fights has already been discussed.
I was just looking at her fight record & 5 of those wins were in less than a minute. Her record seems amazing. But how much so....I'm not sure. What other sporting accomplishments would people compare this to?
How would u compare it to the stretch in Tiger Woods career where he was so dominating that any tourney where he teed it up.....it was pretty close to an even money bet on whether u picked Tiger to win.....or u just picked everybody else in the field.....which is insane in golf.
I don't think what she has done equals that. By the way - does anybody think that it would be a good strategy for Rousey's next fight to concentrate on some other type of submission because all her opponents obviously are working so hard on trying to avoid that arm-bar at all costs.....
is there a submission that would be the best to go for when someone is concentrating so much on not getting arm barred?
Or should she just keep the mind-set, if it aint broke, don't fix it?
This was my 1st & may be my last post on female MMA. But it certainly seems to be getting quite a bit of attention these days.
OK - Over & out.
