Id be pleasantly surprised if this makes it out of the first round. I guess beating Bigfoot stops you from falling in the ranking when other fighters win but it sure wont advance your ranking.
Wat

Bigfoot is top 5 bro, beat Overeem and just lost to Cain for the title. If Hunt beats Bigfoot he's probably moving into the top and Roy, Stipe, or preferably Mir is off.

Love the fight, but BF is going to fight smart and take it to the ground. If he stands and bangs I'll be pretty surprised.

I envision a dejavu submission loss (kimura), but lets hope I'm wrong and Hunt uppercuts or left hooks em to oblivion. How can Mark miss with a target like that.

Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

...Interesting fight. Bigfoot doesn't want any part of Mark's stand-up if he plays it smart. Silva can and will use his size and strength to put Hunt on his back or in the clinch just wear on Mark. Silva wants that finishing mount, dropping bombs to soften up Mark then maybe submit him. Hunt needs to do his kickboxing 101, stay off of his back,(best of luck) keep Silva on the outside slamming in multiple brutal legkicks---and just keep throwing combinations like Cain did. Hunt has the speed advantage in the striking department. Hunt needs to just come out blazing like Cormier & Cain did. Mark has the best chance at finishing Bigfoot if he catches him early...

That has the same value as saying "Hunt will wet his pants and try to keep it standing no matter what."

You can fight smart or you can fight stupid and that has nothing to do with "wetting pants".

Bigfoot wins this and makes it look easy. Does anyone still think Silva has anything to fear from the dreaded "K1 level" striking?

I agree with those who think Silva will take him down for a "boring decision" if by boring decision you mean just like he did to Fedor.

In contrast to other HWs, Hunt actually still has quite some KO power in his punches even when his gas tank is empty.

Hunt's striking is pretty good. That has not much to do with "K1 level". He adapted much better to the small gloves than Overeem, in particular in his striking defense. He has head movement and parries incoming strikes to then counter.

Hope the UFC tests Hunt pre-fight and has a backup plan. Many fighters that come back from staph infections piss hot.

Do you always get so offended when someone slights a Brazilian fighter? Relax, slick. I wasn't being serious.

Big Foot's best bet is to ground and pound Hunt out. And while Hunt has improved his TDD and ground game, there aren't many who can stop a bull rush from Silva, imo.
