Mark Hunt, 'Bigfoot' Silva agree to headline next UFC event in Australia

http://www.mmafighting.com/2013/9/3/...-in-australia?

Quote:
UFC returns to Australia on Dec. 21, and heavyweight Mark Hunt will be on the main event of the Fight Night card.

Sources close to the situation confirmed to MMAFighting.com that Pride veteran Mark Hunt has verbally agreed to meet Brazilian heavyweight Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in a five-round battle in Australia on Dec. 21, but the city or venue for the event has not been determined. Combate first reported the news.

At 39, Hunt returns to the Octagon after a third-round TKO loss to former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 160 back in May. Prior to that loss, Hunt was riding a four-fight winning streak, including stoppages over Chris Tuchscherer, Cheick Kongo and Stefan Struve.

Silva, a former EliteXC and Cage Rage heavyweight champion, looks to return to the win column following his first-round loss to Cain Velasquez at UFC 160, when he had his chance to fight for the heavyweight championship. Silva, who has lost twice to Velasquez in the UFC, is 2-2 under the Zuffa banner, having his arms raised after knockout wins over Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem.
I cringed and laughed at the same time... then I thought... why the feck not!

Bigfoot will wet his pants and immediately go for the takedown and a submission attempt.

Ain't nobody not named JDS man enough to stand and bang with Huntu.

I agree. Which makes me sad. Silva willnot surely keep this fight standing. From top position Big Foot might grind out a crappy decision win. This is disappointing. Hopefully he'll stand and get KO'd.

IMO thats a horrible fight, hunt will probably kill him.

Id be pleasantly surprised if this makes it out of the first round. I guess beating Bigfoot stops you from falling in the ranking when other fighters win but it sure wont advance your ranking.

Silva has a good chance of getting Hunt to the ground and using ground and pound or even going for a submission.

Hunt may be able to overwhelm Silva and use his speed advantage like Cormier and Velasquez both did but will have to wait and see.

Silva also has the better gas tank and the longer this fight goes the more of a chance he has to win it.

Either way should be a decent fight and hopefully it doesn't go more then 2 rounds.

I think eventually Hunt knocks Bigfoot out, BigFoot will charge in looking for the TD and his odds of getting it are fairly good but I don't see BigFoot as the great submission guy but he will GnP thing is that Hunt is just plain tough and will survive and open every round swinging for the fences and when you hit like Hunt and the guy your fighting falls like BigFoot its almost inevitable.

Depends on who can impose their game first.

Hunt KO's him or Bigfoot wrecks him on the ground, every fight starts standing though so I favor Hunt.
