Matt certainly matches Condit in many areas. His tenacity is second to none. But, Condit is virtually indestructible. You can out-point him, but you wont beat him up. Brown, unfortunately, is nowhere near as durable. Even if Brown has a lot of success in the first couple of rounds, my money would still be on Condit to finish it.

It would be fun though.

I disagree. Browns stands up there with Condit as one of the most durable in the division.

hasn't most of Browns losses come by submissions and not KOs? that would certainly speak to his durability.

I would still favor Condit in this fight, but I would root for Brown.

They are really similar fighters, wild loose striking style, dodgy wrestling, great off there back while showing spotty submission defense in the past.

and they are both... Natural born killers, true finishing instinct.

Durability as in ability to take damage and keep coming. Nothing to do with standup. You could wrestle f*uck Condit for 20 minutes and hes still capable of getting up and ruining your night. Not sure Brown is that robust.

All speculation of course. I certainly would love to see the fight. I love Brown. His attitude is boner worthy.

Brown has always shown an ability to keep coming, that's his biggest asset, he was badly hurt by a body shot from Mein and kept coming, you very rarely see that in mma. As for grappling Kim was throwing him about all night and Brown always looked ready to go.

I agree, on paper Condit beats most fighters but in the cage against someone like Brown it's an entirely different situation. The same thing was said about Condit over Hendricks and we all know how that turned out.

If this fight happens I'll be rooting for Brown also even though Condit is the favorite.

All true. I just feel Condits opponents have been of a far higher calibre. The way he took everything GSP threw at him and never looked in any trouble in the slightest. 3 rounds with Hendrix, again without a hint of any serious trouble for him. I know he lost both those fights. But on the topic of durability, they highlight my point I think.

Again, I really dont want to sound like im belittling Brown in any way. But if pushed to find something to separate them, durability is it, in my opinion. Aside from that, Brown has the tools to be very competitive.

I think experience and high-level competition does that in favor for Condit, also maybe a better ground game. You really can't say much about Browns durability when he never has been finished by strikes.
