I find Matt increasingly ridiculous and as hard as it is to imagine, more immature with age.

He willingly decided that getting high was more important than win and fight bonus and health insurance under the current largest MMA promotion in the land. He knew the rules and laughed at them like he wouldn't be held in some way accountable for choosing to defy them. Now he breaks a rib a week before the fight and says he has to retire because BFC can't book him a fight until 3 or 4 months from now? How irresponsible is this guy that he can't do like 99% of other MMA fighters, and every single professional fighter I've ever known personally, and work one or multiple full time jobs to support himself and family while at the same time working hard to reach their professional MMA aspirations? He has to retire? He is sick of MMA because the fans are fickle, he has to cry, whine, bitch, gripe etc.,. I have no sympathy for this child. He needs to wake up and look in the mirror, then he'll see first hand the source of his woes.

I like MMA less because of this forum

p.s. guy would be 9-3 in the UFC if not for those ridiculous pod tests, with the new limits he wouldn't even pop positive.
You have a point, but to be fair, the best opponent he ever beat was probably Che Mills, and that was one of the fights that got over turned. I always found it weird that he had 12 fights in the number one organization, but never really fought a quality opponent. How can you get away with that? Having 12 fights in a place that is supposed to have the best talent, but not really fighting anyone of note.

Johnson was too inconsistent to be considered even a okay win, Maguire went 2-3 in the UFC, and Che got sort of overrated after his quick win over .. Chris Cope. Riddle got lucky that he had such an easy run in the UFC. He should be grateful. A lot of guys would still be in the UFC if they fought the type of guys he did. His losses were also to "ehh" fighters.

Anyways, I never really cared for him as a fighter, but I wish him the best.
