I gotta ask why? I can somewhat understand the disappointment from Bader. But Cain and Johnny are beasts.

Johnny Hendricks for me. He is a good fighter, he hits like a truck, but I just don't care one way or the other for whatever reason.

Jake Shields, especially if he loses against Maia or even wins by SD.

How can Hendricks be on someone's "whatever" lists?

I'm not a fan of the hype jobs. Gustafsson, Weidman and Hendricks would be the 3 in question. But out of them, Hendricks can knock anyone out, out wrestle most people...and most importantly BEAT GSP.

The same was said about Condit, but I do agree with you. I think Hendricks has a better chance of beating GSP. Not a significantly better chance, but his wrestling ability may come in handy more so than that of Condit.

Hendricks did get beat by Rick Story Clyde. I think people just view him as another hyped 'contender' for GSP's throne. He is simply filling in space until Rory takes over after GSP retires. That's why everybody has him in their 'whatever' category!

Because it has nothing to do with how good or bad the fighter is.

Everyone has bad fights, look at GSP vs Shields. Anyone with wins over Fitch, Kos, Kampman and Condit is a legit contender, it isn't hype. Will he win? Hell who knows, but I wouldn't consider the wave behind him one built by the UFC machine. In fact he may be the one fighter the UFC kept pushing off and he kept proving them wrong.

Also I am not as sold on Rory as I previously was. I do think he could very well in the future take over the division, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ran into a few more bumps before getting there.
