Have you actually read what Liddellianenko has written¿ He speaks of the first Silva fight as blatantly cheating and makes it clear that after Sonnen getting the exemption later, it's only his opinion that it's a loophole for cheating, while officially it's not cheating. (btw. Sonnen failed in all TD attempts later on, even without Silva grabbing the shorts)
Concerning Silva, shorts grabbing is under the discretion of the referee. He didn't disqualify him, he didn't even deduct a point. So officially it wasn't cheating. End of discussion, no matter how much you hate Silva. On the other hand, Sonnen was suspended for a whole year by the same state athletic commission you want to draw on to. So obviously he didn't follow the rules, hence he was cheating.
Like you just said its not cheating.
He did cheat
Now he is not cheating.
Peoples opinions dont matter its the facts that matter and those facts are that Chael Sonnen is doing everything within the rules currently set. Thats all there is to it. To say he is currently cheating is just plain wrong.
Actually holding an opponents shorts is AGAINST THE UNIFIED RULES OF MMA. Maybe you should read up a bit before you try to be a smartass cause there isnt anything smart about it. So yeah VERY OFFICIALLY AS OFFICIALLY AS IT GETS he was cheating. The referee does not need to deduct a point to make it cheating thats just some stupid nonsense you concocted in your head to try and make an argument which you obviously cant make.
Plunging your fingers in someones eye to purposely blind them does not make it not cheating if the ref does not say deduct a point. All it does is make the ref incompetent. There are rules set in place and if your break those rules well your broke those rules. No amount of tap dancing around it is going to change that fact. And the REF did tell Anderson he cant do that.

Its at the refs discretion to deduct a point or not. Not to make a decision whether shorts holding is okay or not okay. The rule has already been set and guess what it is NOT OKAY
. And again i repeat the REF did tell Anderson that its not okay.
Hell i dont think Anderson should have been punished for it. But that does not mean im not going to call it for what it is.
