Pat Miletich Upset With UFC 63 Plans

In an interview with The Quad City Times, top MMA trainer and fighter Pat Miletich expresses his anger with Dana White's decision to feature at least two of his camp's fighters—Matt Hughes and Jens Pulver—on the UFC 63 show, which goes head-to-head with Miletich's own IFL fight against Renzo Gracie.

Dana White, however, denies that UFC scheduled its September 23 event with IFL in mind.

“Yeah, like I structure my whole year’s schedule around what the IFL’s doing,” White sarcastically told the paper. “The IFL’s another one of the small shows in the country that’s helping build the grassroots of this sport. Unless someone tells me the IFL’s doing something, I don’t even know they exist.”

Miletich, however, believes it's another vicious move on White's part.

“That’s Dana White’s business strategy,” he said. “He’ll keep making enemies and we’ll keep making friends. Eventually, the worm will completely turn. I’m sure he offered Matt a large financial incentive to fight that night. When Matt wins, Jens wins, our team (the IFL entry Silverbacks) wins and I win, everybody’s going to be good.”

Jens Pulver said that both he and Hughes are upset that they'll be forced to miss Miletich's fight to compete in their own UFC battles.

“It sucks that it’s got to be like that,” said Pulver. “None of us want to miss that. He’s our guy. That’s our coach, but things happen. I’ll be on the phone before and after my fight, ‘How’d it go? What’d he do?’"

Matt Hughes will defend his UFC Welterweight Championship against Georges St. Pierre at the show, while Pulver is tentatively scheduled to fight a presently unnamed opponent.

I like militech, but i think hes an idiot for calling Dana White a worm lol

Dana White has been one of the main reasons the sports evolved so well.

I mean come on, Pulver and Hughes>Pat Militech as fighting needs go.

I mean honestly Renzo Gracie vs Pat Militech, i wonder which will have to take out they're teeth first.

What is it that is going to be on your mind when you're on your death bed? Will it be the tedious years of 9 to 5, or the memory of some great acheivement. Maybe a moment you stood in glory to the applause of millions.
