Dana never wanted Fedor in the UFC, known that for a long time. You don't do nothing but talk shit about people you are attempting to go in to business with.

I like MMA less because of this forum

Dana talks smack about everyone and one time or another. You always know where that guy stands.

And Dana did want Fedor in the UFC, he just didn't see him as the prize his fans did. He knew Fedor could very well come in and lose his first few fights, and wasn't going to bankrupt the UFC over a mediocre fighter.

Fedor had his time, back when the good HW's were really natural LHW's. After that time passed, he simply record protected for about 5 years or so, taking safe fights (many of which he lost).

No amount of newness or haterade on your part makes Fedor a mediocre fighter guy. White didn't want Fedor in his org, you'd have to believe all the other BS dana spews to think he did.

Why do you think he's retiring, then? If he was still #1 or even top tier, he'd be fighting. It's not like he's 40.

Fedor at one time was the best HW. But his fans kept him at the top way too long. You guys thought he was a God, long after he was no longer even in the top tier. His time was when HW's were LHW's like Couture. Those were the days he dominated. After than he dodged the UFC for years and fought cans and hasbeens. That's what ticks me off about him. He should have taken Dana's offer and fought the best and lost with dignity.

Surely this is water under the bridge by now. No point in knowing the details now if they weren't available at the time. Fedor is a legend, Dana is the boss, it is what it is.

Come on now, brother.
That maybe true, but I know the general business mentality there and I know it stinks.

Put it this way:
You live in the UK, right? Say the UFC have never featured in the UK. Lets also say that you run UK based MMA organization that puts on lots of shows around their home regions and have been doing so for a decade. You have deals with all the regional TV companies and various venues. Basically, this is your home turf and you've worked hard to get your infrastructure in place. You have a lot of fighters and one super star who is very popular in the UK and europe. Hes also a partner in your organization.

Now, the UFC have always wanted to break into the UK. So they offer to sign your super star. They also want to do shows in the UK in the best venues featuring your super star fighter/partner. In other words they want everything from you. All your good shit.

With the above in mind, would you go ahead or would you want to co-promote any shows done in the UK? Becuase it seems to me that without co-promotion, the UFC would effectively take over MMA in the UK and leave you with nothing.
You kind of make it sound like UFC didnt offer Fedor anything and the only thing that matters is the CO Promotion. I really do think Fedors Managers at M1 just plain and simple did not have his best interest in mind. Co Promotion would have been like a youth Football team being Co Promoted with the NFL. M1 had 1 fighter that they got all there money off.

Dana's always been full of shit. He claimed that it wasn't just about bringing in Fedor but also bringing in a bunch of other Russians. I would be really curious to see all of the Russians the UFC passed on and if they are the guys that are killing it in Bellator right now (Alexander Volkov (HW), Vitaly Minakov, Mikhail Zayats, Andrey Koreshkov, Alexander Sarnavskiy, Shahbulat Shamhalaev, Frodo Khasbulaev).

Dude, Fedor is a partner in M-1. Its his company as much as it is any of his managers.

People need to stop with this idea that Fedor is a poor little sap who was controlled by managers. Its total bollocks. He is one of the owners.

M1 are dodgy. M1 have Fedor hostage. M1 are the mafia. All a load of Dana White bullshit pushed by the western media, that we all swallow and ask for seconds.
SPOT ON

Of course its reasonable how often does the UFC go to Russia or other ex soviet states ? also it would have been for other M1 contracted fighters also.
