Than 166? It may be close.

But 166 has
-the #1, #2, and #3 HWs in the world.
-perhaps the #1 LW in the world, at least #2
- Dodson is a top 3 FLY
- Roy, Sanchez, Lombard, Marquardt are all household names.

That was the peak of the UFC as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think any card today can top it for various reasons. You only have to look at what Brock, GSP and Bisping have earnt in the UFC to understand how big a draw they all are. 3 of the top draws in the company's history.

Brock Lesnar's PPV power was ridiculous, he was a one off.

GSP was proably at his peak then in terms of marketability, and he's always been one of the very best draws. I recall Dana White saying he's the biggest star they have.

And Bisping, like it or not is a big seller. And it was a big grudge match off the back off TUF and the whole of the US wanted to see him get KOd.

I reckon Anderson Silva is probably the biggest draw at the moment because everyone wants to see if he will come back like a mad man following the loss, but I'm not convinced enough people care about Jones or any of the other champions enough for a bigger buy rate than UFC 100.

They'd need at least 3 title fights. Even then I'm not convinced they'd beat it.

Brock was still perceived as a potential lasting powerhouse that everyone told everyone else had to watch.

The fact that it was 100 probably added 200 thousand buys just by itself. People love to jump on the bandwagon for big pop culture events. Plenty of people who never watched the sopranos or breaking bad watched the finale and a ton of people who don't follow football or soccer watch the super bowl and world cup.

Because stackig major draws like that doesn't make financial sense. UFC 100 did not make double the buy of a lesnar or gsp fight meaning if they had done two separate cards they would have made more money

Not necessarily..

You have to factor in the costs of putting on the extra events.

Also how much does all of the attention and extra eyes you can get for them carry over to the next few cards. 101 did like 900k I think.
