UFC lightweight Diego Sanchez has already beaten Nick Diaz, and now he's interested in fighting Nate Diaz.

Im thinking maybe nate diaz for the next fight would be a epic 5 rounder.

12:13 PM - 22 Oct 2013

Diego Sanchez delivered another classic on Saturday, absorbing an inhuman amount of punishment vs. Gilbert Melendez before nearly finishing the former Strikeforce champion in the 3rd round with an uppercut knockdown. It's a fight that will certainly go down as one of the best fights of the year, and Sanchez went to Twitter to talk about his possible next opponent. Sanchez, who has already beaten Nick Diaz (in 2005), thinks that Nate Diaz would be a great match-up:

This is nothing new from Diego. After his controversial win over Takanori Gomi, Sanchez told the UFC on FUEL TV studio that he was interested in a bout with Nate, who at the time was coming off a loss to Ben Henderson in a title fight.

Diaz (16-9) is set to meet Gray Maynard on the main card of The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. I definitely think a Diego/Nate bout would be just as enthralling as Diego's past wars with Clay Guida, Karo Parisyan, Nick Diaz, Martin Kampmann, and of course this past Saturday with Melendez.

Do you think the UFC should make this fight happen regardless of the Diaz/Maynard result? It would certainly be superb entertainment whether at 3 rounds or 5 rounds.

Yea.... why not? First fight was a great ground contest, lots of scramble. I can see a rematch being more of a stand up war... with Diaz winning of course.

Im with you in thinking Nick is a better fighter than Nate, I cant disagree with that but I think Nate would probably win.

Now Sanchez is making a little sense. That would be an appropriate fight I think.

I like MMA less because of this forum

I can't think of any reason that this fight couldn't headline a fight night of Fox Sports One.

Diego should spam his high kick since Nate sees no reason to defend against them. Seriously, it was irritating to see Nate get caught not by one, not even by two, but by three hard head kicks against Josh. Despite me being a fan, Diaz deserved to lose that fight.

I think it would be a pretty close fight.

I love it. Only real sad part is one guy has to lose. The fight itself will be great IMO. Both guys have amazing heart, cardio, and chins.
