Whatever helps you sleep at night, Junior.

Honestly, he got beat badly in their second fight. If his gameplan in the third fight was to simply get the knock out, it's on him. Blame him or his corner, but if he willingly just went along with that thinking it would be easy despite getting beat down for 5 rounds previously, he's not exactly the most intelligent fighter in the world, and that is a part of your overall greatness as a fighter.

If true, he's reducing himself to a ridiculous level. It doesn't make us want to watch him fight Cain again, it makes us think he's a sore loser and a delusional douchebag.

Last I heard was JDS thought the fight was stopped in the 2nd round. Dude just isn't all there anymore.

Agreed. Saying stupid crap like this only makes Junior look like he is in denial. After a 50 minute beatdown no amount of hype or trash talk is going to convince anybody their should be a 4th fight. If he wants to make a better case for another title shot then he needs to go back to training, come up with better strategies, win some high level fights, and show us he is a different fighter then before. Maybe then a 4th fight will be warranted.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I understand his frustration though, it kind of reminds me of playing old fighting games where your opponite just kept doing the same stupid power move over and over to win because he know its the safest way that he will win.

honestly from what ive watched in their fights i see cain as the better fighter but i do understand juniors frusteratiuon

But its not like that at all.

Jds had all the chances in the world to use his boxing. He could not capitalize on any of it. While Cain did and hurt JDS badly.

This is more of a case of playing a game and the guy you are playing against is kicking your ass and then realizes that you dont know how to defend against the simplest of moves and then decides to beat you with those simple moves because well you are making it too easy.

The only frustration i see there is that you are not good enough to compete with that player.

Yah I think he just needs to articulate himself better. I'd probably be thinking the same thing if I were him, but my delivery would be different. I'd say something like, "Cain fought the more effective fight in order to neutralize my abilities as he experienced first hand in the first fight." That's it. There's nothing more to it. JDS did not win by fluke not when you're knocking half the HW division including the champion. Matt Serra was more fluky if you can call it that.

Cain dominated from bell to bell the last two fights as he learned his lesson. I almost think JDS would have been better off going for broke rather than enduring such a lopsided fight.

b.) Some fighters aren't the most eloquent or politically correct. They're emotional and extremely prideful.

At least JDS isn't hiding his thoughts. Sour grapes, bitter, probably...but candid.

I think he speaks more from the heart than from his mind. Then again even GSP and Anderson have soundly acknowledged their defeat including Cain too. Anderson is the only one now yet to avenge the lone loss in the UFC. Prior to that he took out Okami.

Yah, I think he's probably losing some fanbase here, but it still doesn't deny the fact that he's most likely the only one to contend against Cain in the near future other than Barnett.

Msg to JDS. Back to the drawing board with wrestling 101 and knocking out contenders.
Yes, he definitely should go back to the drawing board and actually work on his game. His mindset of thinking that he is the better fighter at the moment doesn't help him a bit, it restricts him in the openness to improve and learn new stuff. His mindset should be to think that he could BECOME the better fighter. It's not like Velasquez grinded out a safe decision with LnP. Being the better fighter doesn't mean being a stupid fighter, engaging in a brawl and hopefully landing more shots/the one KO shot. Being the better fighter means receiving the least amount of damage while dishing out the maximum amount of damage, so that at the end of a fight you're unscathed, while you opponent takes a nap or has to tap, if he doesn't wants his limbs to be broken. In that last fight of theirs, Velasquez took less damage than his opponent while Dos Santos took a nap at the end of the fight.

Dos Santos has shown some improvement compared to their last fight, i.e. with his elbows from the clinch, but he obviously still has to improve a lot more.
