I agree, while also overrating Johnny Hendricks. Hendricks is great but he is not the unsolved equation of MMA for which no fighter has an answer to. I'd wager almost nobody scored every one of his controversial wins or losses strictly in his favor but rather for at least one if not more of his opponents, being either GSP, Kos, Condit or Pierce and lets not forget Mr. Story. Hendricks isn't the champ and if he was would be one of the more vulnerable imo.

It'll either be a ugly swingfest or Hendricks takes it to the ground and blankets him for the decision.

This is most likely to me.

Lawler has scary power but I don't see him landing and I don't think Hendricks will put Lawler away with one shot and I can't see that he'll trade with Robbie.

Not sure why people are mentioning Alves vs. Condit. Has anyone ever lived off 1 fight more than ALves? He has fought a total of 7 in the last 5.5 years. He is 2-4 in his last 6 with 2 wins vs. no one good.

The game has passed Alves up. Not sure why people still act like he is top 10 or anywhere even close.

Lawler is an old school fighter and the odds of Hendricks standing there with his hands down in range of Lawler's hardest punch is pretty minimal especially considering Lawler isn't that fast. How many times have you seen Hendricks get wobbled by a punch or a kick where he backs up? I can't remember any.

This is just opinions obviously, maybe Lawler has a better shot than I'm giving him but the odds are close to Silva vs. Bonnar imo. Hendricks is the next class of fighter, just like it's been happening for 2 decades, new styles develop that completely dominate old ones and no matter how strong or hard you hit it won't matter if you are an entire generation behind. Just like when Rampage fought Jones, you could see the will was there but the skillset was the problem. Even if Lawler hits Hendricks with his best shot Hendricks is probably chin tucked hands up and he counters pretty quick, it's gonna have to be one of those behind the ear punches that screws up the equilibrium followed by a barrage of gnp to finish Hendricks.
Hendricks is -260 the line is already out. Silva was like -1500 vs. Bonnar. Anyone who knows gambling would laugh hard at your 1 in 1000 comment.

Lawler can put anyone out in the division. If you think it is 1 in 1000 then you just don't understand odds at all.

This sucks, I like both guys. Hendricks deserves the belt. Robbie can win. Hopefully it's a banger, sucks one has to lose.

I understand odds, I just don't agree with it. This forum is getting on my nerves, I stated multiple times it was just an opinion yet I'm not only singled out but chastised for doing so. I honestly think Lawler has no chance, like that's never happened in a fight prediction before, I'm starting to get a little sick of this forums community. Like if you don't agree with common consensus you are crazy, screw that.

Stating that ANY fighter has no chance is narrow minded and ignorant. Opinions can be wrong, and in this particular case, your opinion is wrong. Stating that a monster puncher like Lawler has literally no chance of winning in a fist fight is simply wrong.

How many times do flash KO's have to occur in this sport before people start to realise that literally ANY THING can happen and ANY ONE can get knocked out cold. Now you might heavily favour Hendricks in this match up, and that's fine and a reasonable opinion, but to state that Lawler has virtually no chance of coming out on top is just flat out silly and nonsense.

Over 5 rounds i find it even harder to write Lawler off, Hendricks needs to take a few rounds off, i think that will hurt him if he is trying to win through his wrestling.
