Only a few weeks before filming, Sonnen has reached out to the former Middleweight king to help him coach his TUF: Brazil 3 team.

Following his first round TKO loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 167, Light Heavyweight Chael Sonnen is set to face his next challenge in former Pride champion Wanderlei Silva. The two will meet after the third season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil.

With filming coming up in January 2014, Sonnen reached out to former Middleweight champion Anderson Silva to help coach his team. MMA Fighting\Chae has the story:

Quote:
"I have officially invited Anderson to coach TUF: Brazil as part of my staff."

Sonnen said he reached out to Silva's manager Ed Soares to extend the offer, and that Soares said, "I'll talk to Anderson and get back to you."
Sonnen and Silva have been longtime rivals after fighting each other at UFC 117 and UFC 148. It will be interesting to see if Anderson accepts Chael's invitation to coach against his countryman in Wanderlei. Neither Chael nor Wanderlei have announced their full team as of yet.

As far as anybody knows, is Silva tight with Wandy? Ive always had the idea in my head that they dont really like each other, but I cant recall where this bit of information came from... My imagination is a strong possibility.

I think I remember them having a falling out when Anderson left Chute Boxe, but I'm not sure.

Wand and Anderson are friends. As far as fighters in the fight business can be. Anderson and Vitor are not enemies in their core either. It`s the level competition is taken between Camps in Brazil that make their worst personalities parts to clash.

I doubt very much Anderson will accept. He shall help Wand, though.

Thumbs up

In a recent interview Chael said: "No matter if he's on my side or Wanderlei's, I think Anderson definately needs to be there", because he knows how important figure Anderson is to Brazilian fighters. Dana also said recently, that "it's surprising, how many Brazilians want to be on Chael's team".
This is going to be good.

Oh, absolutely. It's a hell of an opportunity for any fighter to be. To be on Chael's team means only that - to be in his team - not giving up being Brazilian or betraying their country. The goal is to get in a massive UFC promotion and do a good job before the bosses and public.
It doesn't mean all fighters joining Wanderlei team would automatically love him or Anderson either.
