Hey we all know UFC has been around for some time now, even though its only picking up full force now. Thanks Dana. Its good to be white.
I personally got into watching UFC around '95. Around the time when Tank Abott was kicking everyones ass. First UFC i saw was UFC 6 and the main event was Taktarov vs. Tank it went on for 5 rounds and even though Taktarov won he was carried away on the stretcher with an oxygen mask.
I watched all the early tournaments with my dad in the mid 90s but I was kinda young and I didn't really get into it until after Zuffa. I watched the first 10-12 UFCs with my dad and then after that I only watched every other one or less. I started really paying attention and learning a lot around UFC 30. I didn't discover internet MMA chat rooms and forums until after the first Shamrock/Ortiz fight. I never started posting on any until the night my favorite fighter dismantled the most dominant 170er in the history of MMA. I remember I started posting cuz I got sick of reading all the Hughes nuthuggers making excuses and I haven't stopped posting since
2005...i think that is when the first ultimate fighter was on...maybe it was late 2004 though when i was in the 6th grade....Well anyways TUF1 got me into it...besides that i didn't really know about ufc. now it is on all the time...
although my dad knew about it and watched the first ufc live
Backin 93' or 94', me and my friends used to rent the videos(1,2,3) and then bet on the fights, we were 13 years old and would bet a $1 on each fight. I remember nobody wanted Royce and we all thought Art Jimmerson would destroy him. Then in his next fight nobody wanted him because we thought the Jimerson fight was a fluke. At last we still doubted Royce in the finals, because Gordeau was a bad-ass. We were once again wrong. Funy $hit, lol.
I watched a random PPV here and there throughout the 90's, usually at a friends house. Then I saw the Smashing Machine on HBO in about 2001, I remember watching that over and over. I could'nt get the images from the Vale Tudo fights in the beginning, out of my head. This got me familier with PRIDE, which to this day I have ordered maybe 3 PPV's, but have bought probably 15-20 DVD's and watched the fights more recently on youtube, the day after a PPV.
I really got into it about 3 years ago, someone at work was talking about the UFC all the time. I was one of the few people in my office that had a clue about MMA, so we used to BS about it. He had like 20 UFC DVD's and lent them all to me, I watched them and then ordered the next ppv(Coutorr/Lidell2), and then every PPV since then.
I discovered this site last Summer, I used to go on just to see what the future fight cards were like, then Became a member in October and have been posting since November.

but there is really only like 5 ppl in my grade that know what ufc is....:boo01: hell of a lot more exciting then baseball:laugh:
Started watching in 94 for 2 yrs then just watched it sporadically until 01 and don't think I've really missed a UFC since then. May not have watched it live but watched it online or something. I'm in Korea right now and all the UFC's are free here
