A win over Frank Mir isnt a big thing anymore. Overeem hasn't proved anything by beating Mir.

I completely disagree...

Overeem's problem wasn't his ability to hang with top competition... it was his inability to stay focused through out the fight.

He was making mental errors, which I think he could attribute to some over confidence he brought within from other organizations.

Beating Frank Mir might not mean what he use to... but don't kid yourself. Frank Mir can still be dangerous. Overeem proved that he can put on a dominate performance, keep his cardio up, and remain focused through out the fight.

What this means for his future, we'll see... but I think this was a great step in the right direction for him.

This.

Overeem was dominating Browne/Bigfoot before getting finished. His problem is not fighting smart and taking too many chances against big ass dudes who naturally come with big ass punches.

His skill should not be in question, he can certainly compete with top level competition, he just needs to fight smarter which this fight showed he is moving towards. I don't think he would beat JDS or Cain, but I firmly believe that an Overeem that is more patient/smart in the ring can beat most people in the division.
