Griffin vs. Bonnar = Don't Care

You know I don't see why Bonnar gets this fight, he got beat up by Rashad, won controvesial decisions against Hogar and Jardine. His only notable win was against James Sandman Irvin (who I don't think even fights anymore). The fight was suppossed to be a stand-up war. Bonnar gets tagged once, and turns it into a grappling match.

Forrest has had some impressive wins and he is a much more exciting fighter. Why not have a Forrest vs. Tito rematch at UFC 63 instead, or have Forrest vs. Rashad? Hell, have Forrest take on the loser of the Liddell/Sobral fight or possibly even fight Bisping.

I don't see how this fight benefits either fighter. If Bonnar wins or loses, I doubt he'll ever be made a serious contender. If Forrest wins he'll probably get another marquee fight...and if he loses he probably still gets another marquee fight.

I just don't understand why you pit two fighters whose careers are going in different directions against each other. I wonder if Dana is just trying to pander to the TUF fans and save money by having his 3-year contracted fighters keep fighting each other.

Who schedules these fights?

I know...Joe Silva. But - you get what I'm saying.

Thoughts?

yeah they should have definately waited abit before making this fight , both men are coming off losses and like you stated Bonnar doesnt even deserve this fight right now , it doesn't make much sence , its like they just threw this fight on the 62 card to bring in a few more ppv buys..

Oh yeah , and i think Bonnar will win

I don't care about this fight or UFC 62 so far. It looks like UFC 55 except a better main event so far. The main event is all I want to see at UFC 62. The co-main event is a piece of crap. You should put in fights like Sanchez .vs. Parisyan, Riggs .vs. Von Flue, Leben .vs. Santiago, and Buentello .vs. Abbott which are in completely different shows. Terrible.

^^ I agree bro. I wish they would've put Diego Sanchez vs. Karo Parisyan, Dean Lister vs. Yuki Sasaki & Joe Riggs vs. Jason Von Flue all on UFC 62's card instead. Then, move all the bum fights that are on PPV, to broadcast television.

If Dana White's main objective is to enhance the sport while making boat loads of money - he sure isn't helping his own cause. Wouldn't you think it would be smarter business to have people with name value on PPV, so it generates more buys - which would = $$$.....then put all these no-namers on broadcast television, I mean - it is free. UFN is a steal being on free television - compared to the crappy ass PPV that people have to shell out cash for. Way to shoot yourself in the foot Dana / Zuffa. Stupid.

These two are just some of the best of a bunch of losers. And they have similar styles of getting punched in the head till there opponets hands get tired. But there are a lot of fans who for some reason love these guys. If anyone one TUF was good they'd already be in the UFC. Probably.

Forrest Griffin isn't a loser hes awesome but if he faught a PRIDE veteran he would get schooled worse then Leben did to be honest. All he does is do a boxing match against an opponent until one is knocked out except in the Ortiz match since Ortiz is not stupid enough to punch him back and engage in a war. Say if Griffin faught Arona he would get owned. But hes very entertaining and I like him way more than cocky Bonnar.

Tito had an injured knee. If his knee wasn't injured he could have really hurt Griffin but couldn't. Ortiz also knees people a lot during fights.

Lets make more excuse's shall we?

Whenever tito's in a contraversy win or he just loses then he brings up all these injurys. Thats what i love about fighters like Sean Sherk, BJ Penn, GSP, Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin, Etc. They just want to scrap, as long as they can stand and throw punches they'll fight.

What is it that is going to be on your mind when you're on your death bed? Will it be the tedious years of 9 to 5, or the memory of some great acheivement. Maybe a moment you stood in glory to the applause of millions.

It could be a possibility that White wants some of the better fights on TV so more people can get into the sport.
