I still think Cormier wins even if he gasses early.

I think there's more of a chance of this Cummins guy gassing than Cormier. Cormier has to have been doing a lot of cardio to get the weight off, while the Cummins dude didn't even know he was fighting soon.

I'll watch the fight sure, but it's sad how desperately they're trying to hype the fight with the worst trash talking sports have ever seen. Such a meaningless fight as well, yet they're trying to trick us into thinking it's some huge personal grudge now so people may buy the shitty PPV. DC by snoozefest.

after seeing what the UFC has put out to hype this fight i'm actually interested. not so much in the fight, but in cummins, I think he'll probably lose, but they may give him another fight down the line if he performs well. he sounds like someone who could deepen the division. I want to see what he can do with good prep time and a good training camp behind him

It'd be a pretty dick move to not give him another shot. All these guy's fight for a chance to get into the UFC, they wouldn't sign him in a weeks notice against a potential P4P guy only to cut him after he loses. Even Latifi get's another shot.

I don't see Cormier losing any time soon, let alone to Cummins. Let's review the facts here guys:

1. Cummins needs to make a name for himself, cause he wants to stay in the UFC even if he losses to DC. No wonder he attacks Cormier with the story about the crying... it's nothing else but a strategy to gain some fans and good graces, before and after the bout.

2. It's an MMA match, not a wrestling contest.. DC has a lot of tools, that Pat hasn't gained yet. He is faster on his feet, he has amazing wrestling skills, better experience, greater variety of attacks, he has fought against and has defeated MUCH TALENTED competition, Cain Velasquez, better sparring partners.... and he had a better training camp than Cummins, who signed to fight a couple of days ago.

3. It's the UFC, not the minor leagues.. Cummins is cool, but he will get stopped in this fight! The pressure will get to him, it's just too much for such short period of time. I don't doubt any fighter's mental toughness, but the situation is just odd and difficult to handle!

Even if i'm almost sure, that Cormier will win this one I still think that it will be a fun fight to watch!

You can't help but root for a miracle, though. Cummins' life was a mess, in and out of jail, struggling. Then he gets a Rocky-like opportunity.

I just hope he has some newly acquired striking skills, maybe a haymaker overhand right. If he could make it to the end, that would be a very cool story.

Cummins is getting good coverage for this fight which is good for his career win or lose. The exposure will make him a good name for other organizations if he is sent packing after a few losses.

Still, hopefully it doesn't destroy his confidence if Cornier makes very short work of him. There would be no shame. He has had 4 fights against extremely low level competition. This is a huge jump on very short notice. Even him making this remotely competitive should be a moral win for him.

I'm not ruling out an Alexander/Jardine or a Dos Santos/Werdum moment (Dos Santos came into the UFC as an unknown and Werdum was a top contender), but I highly doubt that will happen considering Cummins has looked sloppy so far. Cormier seems to be a smart fighter and probably won't underestimate Cummins. I think after that exchange they had, he wants to make an example out of him.

Patrick should head to 185 to challenge Weidman even if he wins at 205. Gotta roll with DC though.

Is he undersized for LHW?

I think the only real chance he has is if Cormier has a brutal cut. Cummins has already been teasing him about taking part of his purse. Cormier says over his dead body, which seems to indicate he's going to make the cut no matter what. I'm hoping he'll gas out in the second like Anthony Johnson, if Cummins can weather the storm.

Then if Rhonda loses also, it'll make my year.
