Well everyone makes bad predictions every now and then. And this was yours...
well he didnt even try to take him down which is very puzzling and also he has regressed really badly and quick, he needs a good camp because his boxing defense has gotten really bad.

Thompson's striking is a unique challenge to anyone who can not avoid it. He certainly has a style I imagine will put him on the fast track to better things, but WW is deep and has many sharks. He has some tough matchups of his own on the horizon.

Whittikar is not bad, but he wasn't ready for this tonight. I think he has a high upside, but being at this level in the UFC this fast might be detrimental to his near term development. He needs a lot of polish still.

I like MMA less because of this forum

Whittaker hasnt ever fought anyone nearly as good on the feet as Stephen. So its not as much as his defense regressing as it is just fighting a much better striker.

I think Stephens takedown defense was the fact that he was moving in and out really well keeping light on the feet and mixing it up. And before he could get comfortable to shoot in Thompson was already on the way to finishing it.

Just like Frank Mir said that Junior Dos Sanots foot work had him uncomfortable to go for takedowns.

Thats how i saw it anyway. I could be wrong.

Maybe not, but that doesn't excuse how awful his defense has been in his last 2 fights. I know what the problem is, he said he wanted to train in australia for most of his camps to help it grow here.

But the problem with that is the camps here are ******* shit and you won't get better here which is why I wanna train overseas next year instead of having crap trainers and sparring partners here. If he went to jacksons or blackzillians or something full time he could actually be good.

I agree.

Isnt he overestimating his popularity a bit?? I doubt he could make it grow all that much. He should definitely worry about becoming a better fighter by going where he can get the best training and less about growing MMA in Australia.

unfortunately thats the problem with our respective countries sometimes

you get noticed, you do all the morning shows and media bullshit - and often start thinking that your better than you are

im not saying he is this way but usually the best guys have the attitude of improving at all costs and taking nothing for granted

agree with owns, time and time again you see the effects of a good camp on certain fighters - alliance etc etc

he needs to move, %100

good for thompson though, i like that guy

I feel like blackzillians or team quest could make bobby whittaker really good but we;ll see if he wakes up to reality. I'm lucky enough to have a gym here with a former and current ufc fighter so its at least a good starting point when I get back into it, but eventually and hopefully soon I want to go abroad probably (defiantly) to the US

This was a bit of a dick post, SideWays you're a good poster but this is weak.

Last thing we should be doing is traipsing up wrong predictions, cos we've all made them.

Blackzillians?? Wernt their guys doing pretty bad a while back?? I think Reem also left them.

The one thing i remember about them was that Rashad was saying how fighters train fighters there. Im not all that sure that i think that is a good camp choice. Fighters dont always make the best coaches.
