Jose Aldo: Pettis you f**got, your time will come.

Is a grudge match underway? Did Aldo just cross the line?
These are the questions I ask myself when reviewing the video below.
Obviously, I do not speak Portuguese, but we know what he’s saying here. It’s a Brazilian soccer chant that’s been modified by Aldo and company to fit the current landscape of Jose’s current career standings.
While the UFC featherweight champion, is likely just poking some fun, the literal translation of the song, is pretty harsh.
MMAMania.com has the breakdown of what’s being said here:
Aldo and his crew sing, “e o Zumbi eu nunca vi, Ricardo Lamas la la la, Anthony Pettis seu viado, a sua hora vai chegar!” The original soccer song goes: “Cadê você? Cadê você? E no Maraca eu nunca vi, no Engenhão não estava lá, os jogadores todos choram, não têm torcida para apoiar.”
Crudely translated it goes, “the Zombie I have never seen, Ricardo Lamas la la la, Anthony Pettis you f**got, your time will come.”
They adapted a song from Flamengo’s supporters (Flamengo is the most popular soccer team in Brazil and Aldo is a Flamengo fan). Basically, it says that Anthony Pettis is a f**got and his time is going to come. They are clearly joking, but that is what they are saying.
The original song says: “Where are you? Where are you? In Maraca (the abbreviation of Maracanã, the biggest soccer stadium in Brazil) I have never seen, in Engenhão (the other big stadium of Rio de Janeiro) they weren’t there, all their players cry, they have no supporters to stand for them”
Flamengo supporters sing this because Botafogo has a lot less supporters.

Video inside link and it clearly looks like they are joking and having a good time even though i cannot understand a word they are saying.

So im not sure id take this seriously as people probably will.

Aldo and Pettis are both awesome. That is one of those matches i most want to see but i wont know who to root for and id hope they both have an EPIC match were they both walk out winners. But i dont want to see a Draw... i dont like Draws. Atleast not for high profile fights. But if its a extremely deserved draw then so be it and give them a draw and then make a epic REmatch!! Even though Rematches rarely live up to the standards of a good first fight.

I'd like to see Chad Mendes get a rematch before Aldo moves up.

Never will I ever be fake, never will I follow

Serious or not, i'm not a fan of people calling out and threatning people outside their weight class. Either nut up or shut up.

Aldo is the one who tucked his tail and ran. If you're so confident, accept Anthony's challenge at 155, homie.

Granted, Dana and the UFC have made this fight difficult by stipulating that Aldo need vacate his title at 145 to fight for the belt at 155. I didn't see BJ Penn stripped of his title when he fought GSP, nor did they mention GSP having to vacate his title in a fight with Anderson at 185. I'm not sure why the UFC is now all of a sudden forcing Aldo to make that decision.

There have been plenty of fighters who have been disciplined for conduct issues for saying less... joking or not.

I dont speak Portuguese, but I'm willing to bet that "translation" is a load of sensationalist bollocks.

The translation is accurate, but this is still sensationalist bollocks. That is a soccer chant where the name of an adversary is "inserted" in order to have fun with. Anybody believing Aldo is actually calling Pettis a f@ggot or trying to hype the fight using this video is buying a property on the Moon.

And also, why people wants to make Aldo the only one responsible for this drama while blatantly and conveniently forgetting that Pettis was the one granted an undeserved shot at Aldo's 145 belt and pulled out "injured" just to fight for the 155 belt shortly after, healthy as never?

I say both are being prima donnas here, but Pettis started, no doubt.

Sorry but I don't agree. Aldo and Pettis had a date to dance and Aldo was the one who made it. Pettis pulled out then went on to fight a month later for he belt in his own backyard. I stand by that statement each time I hear someone say Aldo is scared. Because it is fact.

Is there a link or anything to where Aldo says he doesn't want to move to 155? I may have just missed it. I know his coach mentioned 150lbs. But as far as I remember Aldo wanted to go to 155, the fight was all but set, then they gave Gil the fight. I still haven't seen an explanation to the situation. But perhaps I just missed it.

I agree with this besides maybe the prima donna part.

Pettis is the one who got some random shot at 145 (not that I didn't want to see it). Then got injured then asks for a 155 shot in his hometown. Then gets it. People don't seem to grasp these obvious facts.
