Hopefully Guida doesn't manage to hold Kawajiri down for a decision. He beat Hioki despite getting out struck and completely neutralized on the ground because he managed to hold him down every now and then. I get why he wins on a UFC score card, but it still leaves a sour taste in your mouth knowing that he didn't really do anything otherwise.
I give props to Guida for getting decision wins despite having minimal skills other than decent wrestling and cardio, but it's frustrating to watch. It's not even like his control is excellent either. You could tell he was struggling hard to keep Hioki down and to stop his offense. He did all he could to just barely eek out a decision win.
Still, a wins a win I guess and if you have inferior wrestling to him, he's not an easy match up.
Kawajiri seems to have decent wrestling so we will see. I will be rooting for him.
