Horrible fight for Big Nog. Time to hang it up now. A legend for the history books anyway.

UFC did Nog dirty. As a Nog fan this is the one fight I didn't care for. It was a terrible matchup and a win really means little.

UFC just perhaps retired Big Nog, a real legend of the sport...on an internet subscription, main card starting at 2pm EST terrible for the country of Brazil as well. UFC is so stupid in the sense of match making. Joe Silva sucks balls. Nog deserves more respect than that. All these little unwatchable shows is really ruining it for me above all else. It seems like a Friday night pool league more than a couple times a month spectacle.

Nog should have retired himself a long time ago. This is far from the UFC's fault...

I understand your pain as Nog is my top fighter too, but I have a different reading on this. Big Nog became old. Like other MMA icons did. UFC always stood for him and been good to him and he loved to be back to the cage against Roy. What we know for sure is Minotauro refuses no fight, like we know other fighters are choosing opponents and willing to get paid ridiculous amounts of money to do something they declared they have no interest no more.

Minotauro is a warrior. He is a brand and his gyms are all over the globe for his courage and accomplishments. Even old and coming from surgery, again, he stepped up as the warrior he is. Minotauro's career is certainly over in regard of title shots, yes, but he is fighting for the warrior he is. Hurt to watch, but even if he loses all fights from now one, his legacy is preserved forever.

Looks like I called it pretty good. I dunno why a mod would lock my thread.

I have deep respect for Nog, and I think the UFC does too. Big Country is a total winnable fight for him, in fact, I thought he was going to win quite easily. I didn't see that coming.

That said, Nog deserved huge respect. He came to the UFC and didn't dodge anyone, as some other heavyweights of his era did. I expect he'll keep fighting until he can't anymore. No harm to his legacy whatsoever. Good fighters always go out with a lot of losses at the tail end of their careers.
