Munoz vs. Mousasi at UFC Fight Night in Germany

The UFC returns to Germany on May 31 with a hard-hitting middleweight main event...

Two middleweight standouts will end May with a bang, as Gegard Mousasi and Mark Munoz meet in a five round main event that headlines the UFC's return to Germany on Saturday, May 31.

Taking place at the O2 World Berlin, the event marks the UFC's first in Germany since November 2010's UFC 122 card in Oberhausen.

Ranked number seven in the world at 185 pounds, Munoz has won five of his last seven bouts, including wins over Demian Maia, Chris Leben, and Tim Boetsch. The 12th ranked Mousasi's recent run is just as impressive, as he's gone 6-1-1 in his last eight, with wins over Ovince Saint Preux, Mike Kyle, and Ilir Latifi.

"I've always wanted to go to Berlin," said Munoz. "To be able to compete there is an added bonus. Berlin is a historic place and I'm looking forward to being part of MMA history and putting on a great show for the fans! Mousasi is a great opponent and competitor. I am looking forward to competing against him and getting one step closer to fighting for the title."

Tickets go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on April 2, with newsletter code holders having the opportunity to purchase tickets on April 3 and a general sale beginning on April 4.
Unlike Machida, Munoz will engage Mousasi. Could be a fun fight.

I was really hoping Mousasi wouldn't draw a wrestler but what do you do. He should take this.

Good fight, Mousasi needs to avoid the takedown because he's so content to work from underneath, and Munoz will just keep changing position to score. On the feet it's no contest, but Munoz' takedown threat will be a huge factor.

If this is a five rounder I think Mousasi will take over in the later rounds whatever happens earlier. Might be some good return on Mousasi by submission here.

I think Moose can actually win this fight. He needs to stop the take down or at least get up if he gets taken down. He can't do what he did against Mo and just slap from his back the whole fight. If he does that I think he'll stop Mark. If he gets taken down three times and loses a decision then I think it's time for everyone to stop talking about moose as an elite guy that just doesn't get a a chance.

Munoz has such a weak chin I don't know if he can stand with Mousasi for 25 minutes.

I really hope Mousasi has changed his point of view when it comes to MMA. He seems like he doesn't care when he get's taken down. Sure he does damage off his back, usually working more than the guy on top but the judges won't see it that way.

This. I love to watch the guy fight but he has to realize the judges won't allow a fighter to win a round off his back.
