Which is a bigger screw up. "Early" Stoppage or "Late" Stoppage

I was randomly thinking what the general consensus on this is. Il wait to comment because i am more interested in seeing other opinions.

To make it fair think of the same level screw up between a "early" and "late" stoppage as obviously slightly early stoppage is going to be better then a really late stoppage or vice versa.

Il post some gifs so you have something to look at and stir up those emotions.

Dont just think about the Fighters health but instead think about it overall for example think about the event, the viewer, the company, the fighters career, etc.

Late Stoppage

Early Stoppage

lmao @ the people who think that faber stoppage was early wow.

Late stoppages are way worse. You're talking about a guys health and thats what is most important, bottom line.

Alot of people think it was early... including in this forum.

Personally i think it was fair but not due to damage instead because Faber wasnt doing anything. He said that is how you protect yourself in that situation but he had plenty of time to do something else and didnt. Was he just going to stay in that spot taking the hits until the round ends because that is how you defend yourself??

To alot of viewers that isnt what is most important though. Early stoppages can completely ruin events since the fight might have went a different way if it wasn't for the early stoppage. And it seems more fighters would rather have a late stoppage then a early stoppage due to it potentially ruining their career.

Just throwing out some food for thought. Not particularly my opinion.

Went with the bloodlust option because it made me laugh.

Late stoppages are a lot worse, I'm actually surprised none of the people in the gifs died (although the second gif is as perfect a stoppage as can be imo, guy on the bottom was moving all the time and Herb stopped it as soon as he curled up).

I did not watch that fight myself as i was at work but that is Mike Pyle vs T.J. Waldburger and i have read ALLLOOOT of stuff regarding that stoppage being a horrible one. Literally every website that was talking about UFC 170 was talking about that fight being a bad stoppage and Rousey/Mcmann being a early stoppage due to Dean being careful since Pyle/T.J. was a bad stoppage.

I read tons of posts in this forum about it being a reallly late stoppage too.

But like i said i did not see the fight myself so i dont know i only posted it there because of all the posts i read about it when i got off work that day.

Late stoppage always. An early stoppage is never detrimental to fighters health.

Late stoppage. There's usually an argument to defend an early stoppage like "He wasn't moving enough" or "He went limp for a second" stuff like that. There's no way to defend a late stoppage though. How do you defend anyone of the one's Sideways showed? You just can't. Weidman/Munoz is the worst one of all time imo. Thank god Rosenthal is in prison and not endangering lives anymore. I remember he reffed Big Foot/Velasquez as well.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

They are 2 different animals.

Late = health
Early = possible screwup of the fight outcome

late is "worse" because health trumps all, but it's 2 different metrics to judge by
