I just don't think what he did at HW should hold too much merit at LHW. It's not his fault Rashad got hurt. But considering there are other options at LHW, Cormier should have to beat at least a gatekeeper before getting a title shot. Hendo would be a good matchup because while beating Hendo in 2014 isn't super impressive, he is at least a name with a great past, and it's not like he's a complete can.
I understand why people feel that way, you are far from alone. I just personally don't agree. I think we are both in good company, seems to be a fair share of fans on both sides. In most situations I would probably agree, but I like to look at each situation and individual and make a judgement just on that one situation. Here, I think we have seen enough from DC.
I also agree that DC should stay active, which kind of makes my feelings on if he deserves a shot irrelevant. Since I don't want him waiting on the sidelines. Where I don't agree is that he needs a LHW name under his belt.

Jones got his shot for several other reasons

1.) The Top Five guys in the division refused to fight him.
2.) Rampage the only guy ahead of him was to fat to fight.
3.) He was the favorite going into the title fight.

That's the first time I've heard that, got any proof?

I really hope this fight doesn't happen. I'm tired of seeing guys I like fighting each other. I want DC to get the title shot and I want to see Hendo continue knocking people out.

Never will I ever be fake, never will I follow

Forrest Griffin was open about the situation with Jon Jones, he made a very important point that nobody was calling out Jones. You had Rashad Evans clearly not fighting Jones and I believe Rampage but I wouldn't be able to find the link post Jones/Jackson fight.

The only person in the top five at that point that would have been willingly fought Jones was Machida

Henderson always has a shot... more than most. But DC is too smart, he will make it boring, he will probably win a 3 round decision.

I am going to literally LOL when DC beats up Hendo for 3 rounds and the "is he a GOAT now" thread disappears.

Cormier probably would/will beat him up pretty good I would imagine. But that still won't take away Hendo's past accomplishments, he's nowhere near the GOAT but has obviously had a stellar career and pretty crazy ktfo of Shogun is gonna get folk talking.
