Still, Werdum will have cardio issues against Cain. Good thing for him is that it looks like standing & banging sin't an issue for him (at least early on) and with Cain liking to get close, Werdum will get more takedown/sub opportunities. Should be a fun fight until (if, I guess) Cain wears him out.

Going to be an interesting fight. Cain will have to strike with Werdum because I doubt he will want to go to the ground. Werdum's gas tank might be good enough for a striking match, Cain is probably the better striker though so tough fight for Werdum although he does have a chance.

I favor Cain but most def not counting out Werdum, it should be a good fight and I hope it's a close great fight. Will be interesting to see how the stand up goes in that fight and if Cain is going to try to take Werdum down... Can't wait for that fight.

I definitely think Cain will win.
His pace, power, and cardio will carry him but I don't think it will be easy.
We saw tonight that Werdum is a very real threat. He's not just a BJJ guy, he's the real deal. Striking, takedowns, BJJ, toughness and experience.

Cain would be wise to take Werdum very, very seriously.

I believe Cain will dominate. Don't think he'll get caught in a sub and when he goes for takedowns he's always in optimum position for some nasty ground and pound and control. But Seeing how Werdum did tonight, I wouldn't fully count him out. Excited for this fight.

Now, even though I love Cain and believe he'll be a dominant Champ for a few years, I'll be rooting for this guy

I actually think Werdum has a decent shot against Cain. Werdum had one of the best performances I've ever seen from a HW tonight. When Browne had his leg and Werdum was hopping around, that's not what heavyweights do, that's what welterweights do.

Wrestling -> Cain
Cardio -> Cain
Ground -> Werdum probably
Striking ->Who knows really, could go either way but with the way Werdum looked it shouldn't be an easy tilt for Cain.

Werdum really impressed me tonight, when Browne kicked him in the head he was doing some Anderson Silva stuff in there mocking him and giving him dirty looks. I really hope Werdum can keep improving, he was throwing combos that a pro boxer would recognize as being in good form. Joe Rogan's announcing completely understated how impressive Werdum looked, the way he fought with such disregard for Browne you don't see very often. He didn't have a scratch on his face and landed more than 3x as many shots as Browne, just wow, he was a 15%/85% underdog going into the fight.

Werdum was levels above Browne here. That said, it told us nothing about how'd he fare against Cain. He did eat a few shots and was pressuring and dictating the whole fight. I doubt it's going to be like that with Cain and there's no telling on how Werdum will handle the constant pressure and barrage from Cain.

Werdum will be by far the toughest test of Cains career and I think Werdum gets it done. Nasty in the clinch, good striking and the best guard in the game. Werdum 2nd round ko

The weight cut helped significantly. He's a very wily fighter and very under rated. I gave the edge (60/40) to Browne because of his incredible momentum, but I certainly didn't agree with the 85% - 15% win ratio that was shown on the teleprompter.

If Werdum was quicker he would be so much deadlier. I think it'll be a huge promo because both fighters speak Spanish fluently and of course one is a native to Mexico. Looks like all stars are aligned. If Werdum pulls it off he's going to have a helluve time against JDS who's extremely quick and powerful. Then you have The Reem as well.

Great to see Werdum finally get his dues. I wish he would have looked for the finish in the third or fourth. I could see Browne slowly get back into the fight and that is always a dangerous thing to do.

I wonder if Cain will want any part of his ground game. He's so mobile and quick with his GNP that it doesn't seem to phase em. Then again we all thought the same about Fedor.

one is a native to Mexico.
I was pretty certain that Cain is not a native Mexican. I looked up his wiki page and it looks like he's from California.

It's kind of difficult to believe since all the marketing around him paints him as a native Mexican.

I bet he and the UFC both wish he was born in Mexico.
Better marketing formula.

You may have meant that his family roots are from Mexico, but the way it was worded suggests otherwise.

Srsly .. no srsly...
It annoyed me so much that people and Joe rogan and the mike idiot (that was way off his game ... it was like his first time commenting a fight ever) were surprised by Werdum
Srsly was i the only one that saw the Werdum/Nelson fight...

Werdum showed his perfection striking/footwork(keeping the distace and great combos) in that fight which was 1 year ago ... Jeezus....
Just pathetic ...
I'm not saying that Travis is like Roy , but still ffs its Werdum , he doesnt give a **** about being taken down cuz he's great on his back ...

Anyway .. I'm done... Joe Rogan and Mike sellout were way off game on this event ...

Great fight. Werdum looked amazing, really surprised me. Cain's definitely got a challenge. No doubt he can take him down, but not many can stay in Werdum's guard for five rounds and not get submitted. On the feet, Werdum's stand up looked really, really good. Can't wait for them to face off.

I have to agree with an earlier post. After the hurting Werdum put on Nelson, it wasn't at all surprising to see him out-strike Browne. But then I've never bought into Browne as a world class striker or fighter. He's good, but he's also far too sloppy and borderline clumsy. Werdum on the other hand has something called technique.
